“Nice Hotel for overnight stay”
Reviewed 9 June 2014 via mobile

I stayed in a standard room which was tucked in under roof (like a loft conversion) window was small, but overall the Hotel was good. Staff are friendly and attentive. No mini bar in standard rooms but it was ok for a single night stay. If I was too stay for more nights then I might have chosen to upgrade my room.

The staff are unfailingly pleasant and helpful. The hotel is very conveniently situated for access to the river for watching rowing, and an easy walk in to town, although buses are plentiful. We have stayed here several times and have been pleased with the accommodation and parking facilities

Positives:
Friendly, efficient Staff.
Clean.
Nice walk into City Centre, weather permitting.

Negatives:
Noisy.
Dated decor.
Average food.
No air con.

Overall:
Expensive for overall experience.

Stayed 2 nights DB&B, paying £370 for two. Room was functional. No air con so will be hot in Summer. Bed was a little soft for me. Was awoken on both mornings to guests above using the toilet(!) followed by arrival of refuse and towel delivery trucks. Evening meal was average, but staff were friendly. Breakfast was plentiful with good choices.
The staff do their best to make up for the dated decor, but you can't help feeling you're on the set of 'Crossroads'. Overall not worth the expense.

Room Tip: Front of hotel would be quieter

I looked at many hotels before booking this one, and so pleased i did. Our room was spacious and had a balcony which was great as the weather was lovely. The staff were really very pleasant. The hotel gave you the best of both world views over the countryside and a 10 minute stroll along the river into the Oxford. Breakfast was plentiful and of a high standard. If we visit Oxford again we will definitely stop here.

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights to visit Oxford, hotel was very clean, room big, bathroom was also generous size , but for me it was missing class. It is a purpose built hotel with no caracture what so ever. I will say thst staff were amazing in the resturaunt. The menu was wonderful and food and presentation get a 5* from me. I would only stay at this hotel if on a business trip,as it has many business people staying there and has all the fersilities for them. It is a good 2 mile walk to Oxford City centre so to far out for me. Breakfast was good quality self service .

My boyfriend and I stayed over the late May bank holiday and throughly enjoyed our stay. We were upgraded to the premier room in one of the little houses and it was fab! The staff were very friendly and helpful and I could not recommend it more. Location and spa were lovely too!

Thank you for a great stay!
