I have just returned from a weekend at this hotel with my mother and we had a lovely stay at this hotel which is set in nice grounds very close to the city centre, within 15-20 minutes walk, there is a bus stop just outside. It is equipped with a fitness centre, spa and beauty treatment facility all of which is well maintained.

The rooms are spacious, very clean and comfortable, the bar and restaurant is very nice and the food is good. We both enjoyed our stay at the Oxford Spires Four Pillars Hotel and would definitely return if we were in the area, fully recommend, very good value.

Booked a three night stay. Reception was friendly & helpful-a good start. We booked a Connoisseur room in Eastwyke House.
The first thing we found was the previous occupants rubbish still in the bathroom bin, ugh. There was only one bath towel for a double occupancy. The room looked grubby..filthy lightswitch plates, scuffed and dirty skirting boards. The bedding smelled and looked rumpled, as if the bed hadn't been changed.
There wasn't enough toilet paper. All these problems were dealt with eventually, after phoning and going to reception. However, the price we were paying means this shouldn't have happened. The housekeeping staff are seriously overworked or just not well trained, or not supervised adequately.
In the bar my drink had two ants ( dead thankfully) floating on the top. Again this was immediately rectified when I pointed this out, it was obvious the ants were in the glass before the drink was prepared. Hygiene is not a high priority in this hotel, except in public " on show" areas.
The hotel is close to the city centre with plenty of buses running by the hotel too. Food ok, breakfast was chaotic on two of the mornings, with staff valiantly trying to cope with the number of people. Most of the staff were helpful and pleasant. It's a shame the hotel is so badly let down by the lack of supervision in the housekeeping department. We won't be going back there again.

Room Tip: Take some disinfectant wipes with you! Eastwyke house is separate from the hotel a short stroll, but...

It's tricky picking a hotel in Oxford you can blow the budget with the sort of places we usually pick like The Old Bank or Malmaison and not get much for your money except a more up market style, decided to try here on the basis that for less money it offered a room with a balcony, a free mini bar, parking, wifi, breakfast and the hotel had a swimming pool (we booked direct with the hotel to get this deal). We certainly got good value, the room and hotel is bland, quite business-ey, but the room was spacious and in the lovely weather we got good use of enjoying breakfast and the mini bar on the balcony and used the pool in the afternoons.
The pool was ok, could do with a spruce up and the changing rooms were untidy. But the pool and jacuzzi water was clean and a good temperature.
The reception staff were very friendly and helpful in getting us taxis, making recommendations etc.
It was a lovely 10 minute max walk along the river path to Oxford town centre, the walk brings you out at a big pub with tables over looking the water. 20 min drive to Bicester shopping.

This was our second visit to the hotel, which is pleasant enough and very conveniently located for the centre of Oxford.

Our room was clean, spacious and quiet. The problems began at bedtime: the double bed's mattress had a distinct dip in the middle, which meant either rolling into the middle or attempting to stay on the edge of the bed. I could only do this by tensing my back, which resulted in severe backache. After much tossing and turning, I hit upon the idea of sleeping with my head at the foot of the bed - perfect. Surely guests shouldn't have to resort to these measures for a decent night's sleep?

Breakfast was about average for a hotel of this type. I am not sure we'll return again.

Room Tip: Check the bed.

We received a very friendly welcome when we stayed in this hotel last week. We arrived early but were welcomed and offered the use of the leisure facilities and the restaurant. All the staff we met were professional and polite and more than willing to help. The ground-floor room was comfortable with a lovely patio overlooking lawns. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean and pleasant. The pool was fun, especially the jacuzzi, and the steam room and sauna a nice way to relax.
Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Check out straightforward.
An easy walk into the town centre or a short bus ride back make this an idea location for exploring Oxford.
Tried to log-on to wi-fi but was unable to.
Would definitely recommend and certainly stay here again.

We didn't get off to a good start as the room wasn't ready (admittedly we were trying to check in an hour and a half before official check in) so we had to wait. Then we we checked in later on, my modified room reservation a week beforehand hadn't been put onto the system so I had to ask for the room to be changed to one I had asked for.
The room we ended up with was about the furthest you can get from the hotel entrance at the end of a very long corridor. The room was quite big and had the usual hotel furnishings. The free wifi worked very well and was pretty quick. The bed was comfortable enough but overall the room was a bit past it's best. The paintwork was marked and grubby around the light switches and the bath.had a chip taken out of the enamel. I got the feeling that a makeover is a bit overdue. The room had been cleaned properly, it was just that it was past it's best.
I noted that others have mentioned noise in this hotel. We were not bothered by sounds from other rooms but there was constant door slamming from cleaners and guests. The doors are on heavy springs and no one seems to pull the doors closed, instead leaving them to slam shut.
We choose the hotel because of its location and free car parking. Parking the car in Oxford is a nightmare so this hotel was good from this point of view.
It is also reasonably close to the city centre - about half an hours walk. The Thames Path is also close by and is a pleasant stroll into town.
Hotels are expensive in Oxford and this one costs less than most. It isn't terrific value for money given that it needs a makeover and needs air conditioning installed.
The staff are very helpful and polite and make up for the hotel being a bit average.

Room Tip: No air con so get a room off the ground floor to leave windows open. Rooms at the end of corridors m...

Stayed here for one night to meet a friend .Its quiet ,park like location off the Abingdon Road places it only 15 minute stroll into the city either down the road or along the Thames walk path to the rear.
This city ,with all it's complexities,is best seen on foot .There are ample car parking facilities at the hotel anyhow and a park and ride bus does operate down Abingdon Road too.
Hotel cleanliness and service was good. The rooms clean and modern and well equipped.
The self service breakfast is to be recommended . Bar pricing a little high to sit around all night, but the city is to be seen ,and this place is ideal for such a visit.

Room Tip: Don't worry it's off road locational appears to ensure a quiet room almost everywhere.í
