Walking distance (30 mins) or a short bus ride from city centre, a pleasant and convenient hotel. Clean rooms and good service.

Room Tip: Rooms on the road side may be too noisy if you are a light sleeper

A delightful surprise. Fresh milk and coffee, a microwave and a fridge! Comfortable, large room. Huge bed (a reduction for solo travellers). Spotlessly clean and breakfast served in your room. Several frequent buses into the centre. Quiet, residential, leafy area.

Stayed here for 4 days over Easter, and found all areas to be of satisfactory standard. You get what you pay for in hotels, this place is set at just the right price.

My family have stayed at some of the most famous hotels in the world (at great expense) and did not find any fault with this place.

Well done Family Pal for good service.

I needed a bed for just one night, close to Summertown. I booked on Sunday morning and went on Sunday evening. The staff were extremely helpful about my late arrival and generously let me leave my car there until the afternoon of the next day. They didn't have a single room, so I had a double with single occupancy rates. I was surprised to find a kitchenette in the room, but worked out they did not have a dining room for breakfast - this was fine - I was only passing through and its nice to have a kettle! It must have been a more than adequate stay for me to bother writing a recommendation!

The rooms are large and come complete with kitchenette not something you expect in a B&B. The single beds are not very comfortable and the tele is small and at the other end of the room. Otherwise it is clean and you get a single towel!

The breakfast is simply appaling. A continental breakfast is two toasts, a lukewarm croissant, a babybelle cheese and piece of wrapped tesco like cheddar for lunches. You have to make your own instant coffee! There is no breakfast room so it is brought up to your room.

This B&B is overated and should really be at the bottom rung of hotels.

We believe you can do far better in Oxfordshire for GBP 80 per night.

Room Tip: Look around, use the Information Office.

We were looking for a reasonably priced place to stay in Oxford, close to the Summertown and Jericho areas. It is about 1.5 miles from the central Oxford area. We were only going to stay for two nights while we checked out the area, so we knew we didn't need an exceptional place. The Marlborough house was adequate for our needs.

The room was quite large with a queen bed, t.v. with sky package (cable), a table with two chairs, a small kitchenette (fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, sink, etc.) a desk and en-suite bathroom. Wi-fi was included for free. Breakfast was also included and served in your room (I didn't notice a dining room, so I think this was the only choice). You had the choice of full English breakfast, continental, or muffins.

Everything about the place was adequate, but not great. The bed was a bit hard and uncomfortable and I don't think I could have slept on it for a couple of more nights, but it was okay for the two nights we stayed. It was nice to have the en-suite bathroom, many in Oxford have shared toilets, but the bathroom could have been better cared for. That is, there was some mildew on the tiles and shower curtains. The bath towels left something to be desired as they felt like sandpaper.

The price is what really made this place. It was about 95 GBP per night, including the tax, which isn't a lot for Oxford. If you are not looking for a really nice place and don't plan to spend a tremendous amount of time in the room, the place will do.

We stayed here for 2 nights, we wanted a reasonably priced hotel. The room was very spacious with a kitchenette area, with a fridge, microwave and sink. English, vegetarian or continental breakfast is served in your room. Tea, ground coffee (not instant) yoghurt, cereal, fruit juice and fresh milk are in your room. The hotel calls itself a b and b but it is realy a hybrid between b and b and self catering. The staff were all very helpful the room was comfortable and the location on the Woodstock Road whilst a stiff walk into town was fine as there is an excellant bus service opposite the hotel. We were not leaving Oxford until the afternoon on the day we checked out and expected to have to move our car off the small car park whilst we spent the morning in Oxford however we were informed we could leave in on the car park untill 9pm that evening if we wanted to. An excellent hotel fantastic value for money with a personal touch.
