The hotel was in a suitable location for my purpose. Although it was reasonably priced I had to ask three times for the room to be hovered and for clean towels to be left. I also had to ask for teabags t be left in the room

Regular Travelodge user, but this one is DREADFUL.
Cut visit short. Terrible smell, filthy toilet, bath did not work.
Room big enough, but not even a small table.
Nowhere to find any breakfast. Very poor local pubs for evening food.

We are sorry to learn of your disappointment with your recent stay Ray A. Our housekeeping staff are expected to notice any unpleasant smells and ensure the room has been aired out efficiently before a guest arrives, we also require them to ensure our rooms are clean and fresh and all our facilities should be in good working order so we are truly sorry to learn this was not the case. We've booked this hotel on-line for a lovely Christmas week in UK. Very easy to navigate web site and we haven't got any problem going thru the registration and booking. We booked a internet voucher as well so we had a internet access for 20 pounds for the week. Was very warm, clean and the stuff was really nice, especially Louise.
Louise, thank you very much being so helpful and friendly. We gonna stay in Covent garden next time so thank you for info how to get there.
Overall: easy, simple and value.

We stayed for one night as had two socials to get to in Oxford. Staff were really helpful providing bust timetables and advice of best way to get into Oxford and accommodating my request of a room with two beds as I was sharing with my teenage son.
Good location next to both Asda and the Harvester. Bus stop is right next to the garage with regular service into city centre. The room was clean and comfortable and tea making facilities and tv which we made use of whilst whiling away a couple of hours.
There was no direct route back from Cowley where we finished the night and rather than bus back into the city centre and bus back out we got a taxi which cost £15 although the driver said I had had a really good deal for that as they normally charge £15 to the Wheatley Campus. He clearly wasn't happy with the fare so ask a price before booking the taxi and tell the driver what you have agreed to pay.
We slept well only downside was we were on a ground floor and we think a herd of elephants were in the room directly above took them a while to quieten down late at night and then we were woken by them tramping around constantly for a while as presumably they packed to leave. This wasn't the Travelodge's fault tho it was just unfortunate.
We met three different receptionists in our stay and all were polite, warm and welcoming. I would be happy to fall into bed here again if the need arises.

Room Tip: Upper floor room might mean you get less noise of people tramping around

We had two rooms here at the beginning of December as a relative was in John Radciffe hospital. The rooms are newly refurbished and the beds are extremely comfortable. The staff were excellent and couldn't have been more helpful. We found it to be good value for money and would stay here again if we were in the area.

We last stayed here about 3 years ago and were pleased to find it has been refurbished.
From M40 follow the signs for Wheatley, drive past Waterperry Gardens and turn into small retail park when you see the Asda garage.
Pros
Good value budget accommodation. Decor is pleasing, Proper King size beds which were very comfortable. Room a decent size with 2 easy chairs and hanging space. Kettle & tea making stuff. Flat screen TV. Bathroom good size with a bath albeit a shallow one, but enough to relax in. Asda and Harvester next door and Asda garage with well priced fuel. Easy access to M40. We always get the 280 bus into Oxford. Takes about 30mins and runs every 20 mins from stop 2mins walk away.
Cons
Cleaning staff need to up their game. It's not pleasant to sit in the bath and gaze at an overflow plug full of black slime which if you inadvertently touch floats around you, and then to glance at the loo and see something similar lurking round the rim; and lets not go there regarding the pan. All that is required is an application of lime scale remover and elbow grease. It seems a shame when effort has been made to upgrade the accommodation and then to allow things like this to slide. Our room wasn't cleaned while we were there for 2 nights and we weren't sure if this was the policy or we were just unlucky. There is no lift and no toiletries provided except a very small bar of soap. Those things don't bother me but they might other people. The Harvester pub is next door so you may hear a bit of noise from drinkers but obviously pubs close relatively early. You may hear traffic from motorway but it's background noise, ok if you are used to it.

Thank you for your feedback FerringFairy. Whilst we are please to learn you were happy with the décor and found our beds were comfortable it is regrettable to learn you found the room to be below our usual standards of cleanliness which we would expect on this occasion. As a brand standard our hotels do not offer toiletries as usually our customers prefer to bring their own, however we do offer extra toiletries in the vending machine at reception should you need to purchase any extra items. It is regrettable to learn you found the hotel to be noisy, due to its location is can be hard to completely reduce the noise outside the hotel however in an attempt to prevent this we do provide double glazing and insulated windows. We will be sure to pass on your comments to the hotel management team so that they are able to address your concerns regarding cleanliness at the hotel.
