My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at The Westwood Hotel. It is a beautiful country hotel just out of Oxford. First class accommodation with parking. Excellent dining and bar with good wine selection. Highly recommended.

We stayed in this hotel for a couple of nights after driving for hours in terrible weather. We arrived shattered but our spirits were lifted by the warm greeting on a cold night. Even though it was late the bar served us the most delicious simple but good quality food, we sat snuggled in the comfy sofas and the bar man was chatty, helpful and polite but not in our faces. Our room was warm and spacious with a great selection in the mini bar and a lovely view out over the woodland. Breakfast was efficient, tasty and served very quickly. The quality of the cooked options was excellent and the breakfast room light, bright and uncluttered.
The only thing that was a bit of a shock was the cost of having a shirt laundered. It was astronomical (even by the standards of other hotel laundry services I have used). When we asked about, it the chap on reception did not know the price but said it wouldn't be much. I don't know where he has his washing done but I hope that he doesn't pay that much. I cannot work out how it can cost so much for the life of me. Hotels do themselves no favours by ramping up the price for these extras.

Business lunch with colleagues. Considered overnight stay prior to meeting. Reasonable B & B rate but circumstances dictated against. Decided to stay with venie for planned lunch meeting.

Great location, wooded grounds in Boars Hill area, convenient for A34.

Quiet lunch time, unable to comment on accommodation but has decent public rooms and a terrace area to the rear of the hotel which looked a great place for a relaxing, summer afternoon or evening.

Reasonably priced lunch menu, decent food, value for money and professional service.

A Country house, boutique hotel which I will seriously consider revisting when next in the area.

A useful , quiet, business meeting location.

We made a reservation in August for a stay in December - and we got a confirmation from them. In September they send us a thoughtless email saying that their system had an error, and our reservation was cancelled since they "actually didn't have any rooms". Beware! Your reservation may be next....

We recently got married at the westwood hotel and had a wonderful day.

The staff were helpful and friendly.
The three course meal for the wedding was lovely along with the buffet food in the evening.
We also ate from the bar/restaurant menu the evening before the wedding. Everyone enjoyed their meal but service was slightly slow, although there was alot of us to feed.
We had breakfast to order one morning and the buffet the following morning. Couldn't fault either.
Merilyn (the wedding planner) was fantastic throughout the day, they set up the room perfectly and I was so happy with how they laid out all the things I provided. They also lent us their projector and screen to use during the wedding. I really could not fault the staff on the day.
You do not get good if any signal on mobiles at the hotel (not their fault) but was able to connect to wifi for free.
We were unable to stay in the honeymoon suite as there had been a leak but they provided a large family room for us on the ground floor which in all honesty worked out better. It was large, clean and comfortable. Perfect for all the people in and out of the room in the morning. Beds were comfy and shower was good. Nice big tv to entertain the kiddies in the morning.
Everyone was pleased with their rooms apart from room 4, it was very hot and stuffy in the room and considering it was one of the most expensive it was nothing to shout about.
Other than that one room everyone was happy.
Overall a lovely hotel, would recommend and would stay again.
They made sure our day was special and I can't thank them enough for that!

Where do I start. The cost was £165 per room per night, the same we paid for a much nicer hotel in every way just the previous week.

We waited at reception for what seemed ages before anyone came to the desk. The room was awfully small and to use the kettle you had to unplug the lamp by scrambling under the desk. The shower was hot then boiling, then hot and scalding! The towels are small. The bed mattress was most uncomfortable. During the night the room (30) sounded as if it was in a monsoon. The sound of a gent urinating literally above ours heads and the bath emptying down the pipe in the corner of our room was ridiculous.

The evening meal was poor but reasonably priced.

I will not be going there again- ever.

My wife and I were invited to a friend's wedding and we decided to stop overnight. They had booked a wedding package which included the ceremony, 3 course meal, disco and buffet in the evening.

It was a great day for the happy couple, and despite the weather we had a good time. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the food was good and the location and grounds were good. We had a comfortable room with all the expected amenities. We also enjoyed a good buffet breakfast the following morning. All in all a good stay.
