Rooms were clean, and decorated to a high standard.
Bed was comfortable and we enjoyed a quiet night's sleep
Breakfast was buffet style, and there were about 8 hot ingredients to chose from if you wanted a cooked breakfast. Plenty of continental alternatives also.
Staff were efficient and welcoming

I stayed here on business with a collegue and we both share the same view as each other with this. Sometimes, the privately owned hotels that have put in the effort and quality are really the most comfortable of stays. Very nice modern bedroom, large bathroom, food to a way above avergae standard..... Really did the job. For a businessstop over infact, it was perfect. Will definaltey return.

Thank you for your feedback and am so thrilled to hear of your stay. We have made an extra effort to be more accommodating to our business guests, with our regular menu changes, early check outs etc. so its very satisfying to hear your review. I hope to see you again soon.

The Westwood is a small, privately run hotel, and the fact that it has stayed this way is probably its strongest point. It still has the indefinable, welcoming feel of a private house despite its contemporary and high standard décor. The gardens are delightful, even in the winder, with some stunning trees and a woodland surrounding the lawn. The food is simply excellent, and the service too. The lovely conservatory restaurant was heated just for me, and candles lit on every table. Quality is never compromised. If I had one make one criticism - given the luxurious quality of everything else (such a comfy bed!) - I was surprised by how small the towels were; it's the sort of place that would suggest large fluffy towels on emerging from the shower. Otherwise, perfect.

Room Tip: I managed to get a good rate through the hotel's website presumably due to a quiet period. I was...

Thank you so much for your kind review. We are currently in the process of changing from the slightly smaller bath towels to the larger bath sheets, its seems you unfortunately had the smaller ones. I'm hoping to have the larger ones in every room by the end of the month. Thank you again for the review and encouragement to hurry the changeover. I look forward to welcoming you back.

Stayed here again for the first time in 4 months and it just gets better. The staff are seriously helpful and cannot do enough to ensure your stay is enjoyable. The rooms are spacious and very good standard. Seriously comfortable beds. Tea & coffee making facility is provided along with a purchase tray should you forget your toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush or just fancy some Pringles!

Breakfast and dinner served in the restaurant and it has a great bar area with seats and settees, the comfy style ones :-))

I've now booked one night each week Jan to March; nothing in this area is this close to the standard of this hotel.

We ended up at this hotel by chance after the hotel we had originally booked did not come up to scratch. Well, it was definitely 2nd time lucky. The staff were very welcoming and the hotel had a very homely country house feel with open fires and beautiful Xmas decorations. We ate in the restaurant, which was lovely, before heading into Oxford. The hotel booked us a very reasonable taxi and gave us details of where to get a taxi back. This turned out to be very useful as we were quoted £18 for the return by a black cab but it only cost us £7 with the taxi firm recommended by the hotel.
There was a Xmas party in the hotel and we were invited to join it on our return but were too tired. There was no noise to be heard from our room though and we had an excellent nights sleep. We would definitely return here again as it was a truly luxurious experience.

We made a last minute booking for visit to Oxford city centre. After booking immediate contact was made offering a free upgrade due to a function being held in the hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff, well decorated room with a very comfortable bed, the only thing letting it down was the shower in the bathroom. (Very little water pressure and intermittent temperature)
If staying room only, would recommend eating breakfast in city centre as unless planning to eat all on offer it is not very good value for money.
On the whole a very pleasant stay with very helpful and polite staff.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at The Westwood Hotel. It is a beautiful country hotel just out of Oxford. First class accommodation with parking. Excellent dining and bar with good wine selection. Highly recommended.
