“best cookies ever”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 July 2014

This is just a cookie shop, not a restaurant, why is it listed as such???
But so much better than Millie's cookies. Also I contacted the company and they use all-butter, no vegetable fats in their cookies, which is great. Possible palm oil use in their peanut butter cookie as most peanut butters have palm oil.

“Warm, gooey, delicious cookies”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 July 2014

You may be able to find Ben's Cookies in some other cities, but that doesn't detract from their charm. They're served the way cookies are meant to be, warm and still gooey in the centre. It's nice to get some and eat them while exploring the covered market.

“Pay by white, lovely, fresh and warm!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 July 2014

The Ben's cookies stall hidden away in the covered market is the original stall. The cookie's are made fresh on the premise's despite the small size of the stall. The cookie's are laid out fresh and you pay by weight so there is no disappointment when the server selects you the small cookie. The cookie's are lovely and warm, with fudgy slightly cakey (but not dry) centres. They are larger than your average chocolate chip cookie as they are quite fat as well. The chocolate is melty and warm and delicious.
Tins are available to purchase in different sizes, these are beautiful red tins with quentin blake illustrations on them- we still keep these to contain other foods and a tin of these cookies make a perfect gift.

“Expensive but gooey and delicious!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2014 via mobile

Been coming here on and off for about 8 years and they may be the best cookies in the world...if you can time your visit right. They bake regularly throughout the day so there is a good chance they will be warm and freshly baked.

Each cookie is weighed and costs around £1.50-1.80 but one is all you need as they are very rich. Flavours include plain choc chip, milk choc, peanut butter and triple choc. Some locals ask which flavours are just out of the oven and choose one of those to make sure they get the ultimate gooey experience.

Either way, a bit of an Oxford tradition (particularly with us students!) so grab a Bens cookie as you wander around the dreaming spires...
