This is a clean and well decorated hotel just a short (10 minute) walk into the city. The bedrooms are small but functional as are the en suite facilities.
The staff are friendly. They are the good points. There are a few issues to overcome if you intend to stay here. The cost is quite high - our room with en suite facilities was £130 per night with continental breakfast included. The first thing that will hit you is the limited parking. Two spaces at the rear of the hotel and space for two vehicles at the front (although there is no dropped kerb and it requires some nifty driving to fit the second car in) We arrived early and I am unsure if this had an effect, but the staff were occupying the limited spaces available. One member of staff kindly moved their car to allow me to park, but the staff using the limited spaces
available was a bit of an issue. There was some very noticeable road noise intruding into the bedrooms from the busy raod that the Osney Arms is set on which goes on most of the night. There was no wardrobe just a stand alone hanger in the corner of the room. Breakfast was a disappoinment. After reading other reviews I expected a little more. Continental breakfast - but no little pastries, limited choice of cereals, tea brought to the table in a cup with the tea bag left in place, all guests on one table. We were constantly asking for more milk which was put into tiny jugs, or handing thing across the table which did lead to some pleasant conversations with some very interesting guests. The breakfast room doubled as office space with computer and printer on the floor next to the breakfast table. (A curtain could have easily hidden these away) The vacuum cleaner had a special place in the corridor just outside our bedroom door! The tea and coffee making facilities in the room came with a pack of (two) complimentary biscuits on the first day of our 3 day stay - no more in days two and three. The kettle was left full of water from the previous occupants. The loo roll hadn't been torn across the perforations. Many, many little things that should have been better given the cost of the rooms. Attention to detail is needed here to bring this place up a notch or two.

Room Tip: Room 7 on the first floor faces away from the main road and should give better sleep quality.

Good, clean room. Warm, comfortable, quiet & had a good nights sleep. Great shower and clean but compact bathroom. Only 2 parking spaces so need to ask to avoid disappointment as FREE!!! This is very important when any overnight parking space in town is £25 and the rest if u don't want to move it at 8am. So can leave park here and only a 12 min walk to town.
The informal breakfast setup is good for meeting and chatting with others, but when you are sat there wondering when the real food arrives you'll be a little put out by the toast or croissant option.

We stayed here when attending a friend's wedding in Oxford. When we arrived I was told that they had changed us to a room with a King size bed, rather than the Double we had booked but they would only charge us for the Double, which I thought was nice. Then she said it was £125 when the price on the website was £105! I pointed this out and it became clear that they had recently changed the website (and increased the prices it would seem) recently. They agreed to honour the lower rate but I still think it was very expensive for what we got. On the plus side the room was clean, looked to be recently decorated and the bed was large and comfortable. The staff were also friendly. However, the room we stayed in (at the front of the house) was very noisy from traffic and the breakfast was terrible. I have stayed in lots of B&B's and normally the best thing is the home-cooked breakfast. Here you got fruit salad, cereal and some thin slices of cheese and salami laid out on a table. We were offered toast and when it came it was just cheap, sliced bread. If you're going to offer continental breakfast at least provide nice breads and pastries! I would not recommend this B&B to anyone at £105 a night, let alone £125.

Staff friendly and pleasant enough but the breakfast seemed worth missing.
My wife is wheat free so bought her own (including eggs!) and there didn't seem to be much room in the breakfast area, when I considered breakfast (although it was offered in the room) but it didn't look very appetising anyway.
Really would have expected traditional English breakfast - so if you are expecting that you should avoid.
Room very clean and well-maintained however although roadside rooms are noisy.

Room Tip: Avoid roadside if noise is a concern.

Refurbished building and very clean room. Nice and polite woman answered kindly at the telephone and welcomed us .
Breakfast not acceptable. Very very low quality. It has been the worst continental that we have ever had. 3 kind of cereals in huge boxes that we don't now how long have been opened for. Salami and cheese that we didn't try because of their poor looking. The fruit salad looked as it was prepared few days ago. The best things were cooffe and toast (Not even the jam, in a opened container with poor hygienic condition, you had to put your spoon or knife to take it, and somebody else would do the same with his...not single packets available )
The room price was 115 £. It looked like a single room, the toilette was nice and clean, but you can't turn yourself in the room and wardrobe is worse than Travelodge. By the way, I would say that travelodge room's are almost double than Onsey.
Unbelievable!!! I would never recommend it and we will definitely not go back. Rip off!!!

Really comfortable and clean B&B which has been recently refurbished. 5 minutes walk from the centre of Oxford.
Beds which you just sink into and fall asleep with beautiful Egyptian cotton sheets.

Healthy breakfast.

We found it a little pricey but Hotels close to the centre are expensive.

Room Tip: We had room 3. Good size, looks over street.

My wife and I had our three night stay the week before Christmas. Simon gave us a very warm welcome, showing us to Room 3 which is on the first floor at the front of the property. The Osney Arms had been recently renovated to an excellent standard and our room was very pleasant, although there was a lack of hanging space (having mentioned this to Simon he informed us that this matter was in hand). The shower was great with lashings of hot water. A strange thing to us was the missing headboard for the - very comfortable - bed, not a major problem though. If you feel the cold you certainly won't here. The room was lovely and warm even with the radiator turned down low. The continental breakfast - cereals, juice, lots of fruit, tea and coffee - is a communal affair around a large table, which is a lovely way to chat to other guests. This was a sightseeing break for us so the on-site parking was a boon, we didn't need to use the car at all during our stay, then only a 15 minute walk to the centre of Oxford. We don't think anyone will be disappointed at The Osney Arms - a very comfortable stay and excellent service from Simon.

Room Tip: Being at the front there was a small amount of road noise first thing in the morning.
