Stayed at 5 Mile View for 3 nights in june 2012. Had a lovely big bedroom on the ground floor. The room had a door which opened out onto the back patio which was lovely to open in summy evening and mornings. Very clean bedroom and bathroom. Good choice of breakfast :)
Good access into and out of Oxford centre by bus. Bus stop is just outside B&B and runs every 10 mins or so.

Room Tip: I enjoyed the big ground floor bedroom. Big bed, small bathroom and living room area

Stayed here for 1 night, on route to Heathrow Airport.

We had a double room with off road parking which is always a bonus.

The room was adequate for our needs with a small ensuite. The sink in the bathroom was tiny and it was difficult to fill the kettle without spillage.
Not a powerful shower, but everything was clean and well maintained.
Tea, coffee and hot chocolate were provided in the room.

We had room 4 which is at the front of the house on a very busy road but the noise level was surprisingly low.

Marilyn gave us a warm welcome and explained where to catch the bus in and out of the city. They run frequently every 5 minutes or so and it's about a 15 minute ride into the centre.

Breakfast was delicious and a large selection of dishes, from full English to vegetarian to choose from.
Fruit salad, yoghurt and cereal to start.

Would have no hesitiation to recommend this very good B&B.

We had a warm welcome from Marilynn and she answered every question we had.

The room and bathroom are simple, but clean. Sink is a bit small, but it's doable. It was very handy to have a fridge in the room, haven't seen that much on our trip through England! Beds were not that good: you could feel the springs pretty good. Breakfast on the other hand was really good: you can choose between 5 different options (everything looked fantastic!).

Buses go very regularly (within approximately 10/15 minutes in the city centre) and aren't that expensive. Oxford itself is a beautiful place, absolutely worth a visit!

All in all: a nice, personal B&B with good service!

We (my wife and me) haven't been in other Guest Houses in Oxford.
But comparing to other B&Bs we had in our past travels to Europe in the last years - this is the best!!
In short: Highly recommended!

True, it is not in the city centre, but there is a bus stop to the centre few meters away and across the street.
Banbury road in a main road in north Oxford, and the 2, 2A, 2B bus lines come every 5-10 minutes to and from the city centre.
Still - the place is not noisy.

The room was large (we had room #5), and it has to a lovely little garden.

It had a bath and shower (douche).
It had a small refrigerator, and this was very useful for us, because we try to keep diet and prepare sandwiches and fruits for the next day travel.

For breakfast we chose not to have the traditional English one (well... we do not like sausage and omelet in the morning :-/). We had several types of Cereal, Corn-flax, Bran-flax + yoghurt + milk + Coffee. We could even have bread toast!

The Guest House manager - Marilyn - is very friendly.

The bottom line -
Highly recommended! Worth each penny!

Our room was disappointing. It was very small with no room for a chair or surface to sit at. It had a strong smell of cheap air freshener. I eventually noticed that this came from a plug-it source so we unplugged that along with the noisy fridge. The shower room was clean but very very tiny. A very limited range of tea and coffee in the room. The bed creaked and the mattress was far too springy. Overall a 2 star rather than a 3 star room.
The breakfast included fresh fruit and the cooked breakfast was a good standard. The location was good for the bus into the city but suffered from traffic noise when the window was open even in the side room.

Stayed overnight last weekend and had a very warm welcome, rooms were clean, free wifi access, breakfast was excellent and with a bus stop very near for easy access to the city. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay - all six of us. A big thank you from the Welsh family .

Room Tip: We stayed as a couple in Room 5 and it is a large family room.

Had a great stay here last weekend, twin room with small ensuite but very clean and cosy and warm! Shower was fine, not a power shower but still perfectly adequate. Bed was comfortable and next day breakfast was very good, with vegetarian full breakfast offered too as well as usual cereal, juice, yoghurt and fresh fruit!

Slept very well as the twin room was at the back of the house so very quiet.

Bus stop into town 20 metres to the left of the b & b and coming back from town (or should I say city although its hard to get my head wrapped round that as Oxford is so small) is directly opposite. So very convenient! only 10mins into town, return is £2.80 or day pass which is valid for 24 hours on all journeys is £3.70. It will drop you off at Broad street.

we were given a front door key as well as bedroom key and could come and go as we liked.

Also room for car parking on the drive.

Will stay here next time I visit Oxford for sure.
