The Feathers is a very definite nod in the direction of trying to achieve perfection. Often it is the case that people make the difference, and it is definitely true at this hotel. The General Manager is leading his team by example, and resembles someone wanting to make you extremely welcome as if your were visiting his own home. As a consequence the atmosphere is informal and yet has a distinct air of sophistication and style. My wife and I made this hotel a convenient half way house on the way home from a short vacation. We would love to return for longer. Clients in the restaurant travel for many miles to eat in the here, it is extremely easy to see why!! A wonderful hotel, using Temple Spa products, which is always a good sign.

Room Tip: We stayed in Suite 1. This is well equipped and spacious

Thank you for your kind comments, I find myself blushing writing this reply. I am glad to read you felt at home and enjoyed your stay, I am very proud of my team and hospitality is at the heart of our ethos. You mentioned Temple Spa too, we have only just switched to using their products and its good to see customers noticing the quality. You will be pleased to hear on your next visit you will be able to buy Temple Spa gift sets and products.

Make sure you don't leave it too long for your return visit!

Stayed here Sunday f Bank Holiday weekend. Location in the heart f Woodstock - not that there's much to it. The hotel is several old buildings knocked together, and the rooms are an eclectic mix. Food is first rate, whether afternoon cream teas, dinner or breakfast. Service not quite so good though - at dinner we felt it was like a race, with waiters taking dishes away and bringing the next course faster than Red Bull pit lane staff. And at breakfast the maitre d' seemed keener on instructing staff to empty tables than actually to find out what guests wanted.

But overall glad we stayed and a find to return to.

Think old England - near to Churchill's resting place and a hotel in a town that oozes history and special aspects. Food was a taster menu complimented by a range of selected wines - high quality and presentation. An excellent hotel that retains quirkiness in gin bar with quality of staff. Do it!

Room Tip: Ask for unusual!

Its true, there is loads to see and do around the hotel. For those who aren't into history as much. we are only 20 minutes from Bicister Outlet Village for any shopaholics. It's good to read you found everything to be of high quality and we do hope you pop back soon.

Romantic, cosy, comfortable and just right for a romantic night away. We stayed in a suite which was lovely although the room got very hot at night and there was no air conditioning. Also the pillows were a bit small and squishy! Took advantage of the gin bar - opting for the most expensive one on the menu and a taster session of three others sitting in the sunshine in the outdoor patio area.
The staff were very helpful and breakfast one of the best I've had for years.
Thank you for a lovely stay.

Room Tip: Try for a room away from the main Oxford Road if possible as it was quite noisy in the morning. Sui...

We took some friends here for the first time after raving about it to them and once again had a fab night. We haven't been since the refurb so that was great to see. The food was spectacular and our friends loved it! The staff are always obliging and friendly despite us getting more demanding and raucous as the night went on! All of us will be back within a few months

Such a lovely experience at The Feathers when we stayed. We booked the 4 Feathers package which included a trip to Blenheim. Of course we could have done without the fire in the chimney but that couldn't be helped and was dealt with impeccably, thank you. They made such an effort with my husband and his dietary needs. Many a time he is offered such bland food because he cannot have dairy but your chef seemed to take it as a challenge, which he passed with flying colours. Absolutely brilliant. Also Daniel in the bar was so entertaining. He is such a friendly, but professional, personality and a great credit to The Feathers. In fact all your staff were extremely pleasant and very professional. They have a lovely courtyard out the back but unfortunately it ws raining/snowing when we stayed so we didnt go out this time. We hope we will have the opportunity of staying again soon.

Room Tip: We had a suit on the top floor which was lovely, however if you have mobility issues this is not sui...

The chimney fire did add a little extra excitement to our day. I was very pleased with my teams approach to a very stressful situation. I am glad it did not spoil your stay. Chef does always try to accommodate dietary requirements with as much flair as possible. It would be nice to think we will get a summer this year, and when we do; the courtyard is brilliant. It is south facing so gets all the afternoon and early evening sun. I look forward to serving you a few G&T's out in the courtyard soon.
