We had a wonderful weekend at the Feathers. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We ate in the restaurant and had the tasting menu which was excellent. Gorgeous lamb.
The en suite bathroom was one of the best hotel bathrooms I have ever had. Lovely oval bath, good toiletries and spotless.
Very comfortable bed, quiet and peaceful. All one can wish for and in a fascinating Oxfordshire market town.

Room Tip: No lift and an old building with interesting stairs! All adds to the charm.

This hotel was recommended to me, as it has a wide selection of gin and tonics.
It was my dad's birthday and he loves gin, so thought I would give it a go, plus it's located in Woodstock which i've never been before, and has a Palace at the end of the road which is a good sign (Blenheim Palace).

When I rang the hotel to make the reservation, the receptionist (Jessica) was extremely helpful and even informed me that they had a special summer time deal on, so I booked the two last rooms available which were suits. The deals was really good, it included afternoon tea on arrival, evening meal and bed & breakfast as well!

The rooms were beautiful, lovely deco and really spacious. It was the weekend in May that was really sunny, so it felt like you were abroad. We all really enjoyed having afternoon tea in their courtyard. Dad was straight on the gin & tonics, starting off with the Columbian Gin, then onto the Millers Gin..

After our afternoon tea we took a walk around the town, lovely little shops, pubs, restaurant and even a museum which was free and had a really great coffee shop.

The afternoon meal in the hotel consisted of 5 courses, and every course was cooked and served to perfection. The waiter staff were great, they had so much knowledge and experience of the food.

The next day we went to check out Blenheim Palace grounds, which was beautiful, so wish I would have brought my trainers to go for a run. The grounds were huge.

All in all a really great weekend!

Room Tip: The suits were spacious, well decorated and lovely and clean.

Thank you for your lovely review. I will ensure that Jessica gets to read your positive comments about her. Our Spring Break offer has been very popular indeed and it is very pleasing to read that you enjoyed every facet of the offer. I do hope that you return to us soon, maybe you could buy your dad a gin tasting voucher which would allow him to try 3 gins, at least it would be a start on our extensive Gin list.

We have just returned from an overnight stay at The Feathers and i have to say that we had a brilliant time. I booked with 'secret escapes' having found the hotel while just idely flicking through what they had on offer. What a find! we arrived to find to lovely rooms, quirky but gorgeous, lovely bathrooms, and jars of jelly beans. Some visitors have said that they would prefer tea making facilities in the rooms, I really like the fact that they will bring you fresh pots of tea, latte's etc, to your door when requested. We started with a very nice cream tea with prosecco, followed by a stroll round Woodstock. After a spot of relaxation in our room, it was time for the serious buisness of dinner. The five course tasting menu was excellent, we decided to go for the matched wine which were also excellent. My husband said that it was one of the best meals he had eaten for a while, I would have to agree. After all this we felt that a visit to the gin bar was a must. Our evening was rounded of with a couple of very nice drinks chosen with the help of the bartender. The following morning saw a very tasty breakfast followed by a trip to Blenheim Palace. All in all, a wonderful time was had by all four of us, thank you to The feathers, we will be back!

Room Tip: We had suites 2 and 3, both were lovely, but three has the nice big bath

I am delighted to read that you found the fact you could order tea and coffee to your room to your liking, fresh real tea, coffee and milk is something that we are really passionate about. It is really pleasing to read that both your husband and yourself really enjoyed everything and made good use of our record breaking gins. We hope that we will see you again soon, we now have over 200 gins in stock.

My wife absolutely had to go to Bicester retail park (!) so we decided to book into the Feathers in Woodstock. Having found a parking spot right outside the door, the welcome was warm and efficient and we were unpacking in our pleasant room within 10 minutes of arrival. Our package included dinner and afternoon tea and the latter we enjoyed in the sunny courtyard. We enjoyed a walk around the historic market town before returning to freshen up and change for dinner. The cocktails offered by their specialist Gin Bar - with a record breaking selections of gins - were excellent and again taken in the courtyard. We opted for the tasting menu which offered 6 courses (which portion-wise were individually modest, but collectively adequate) including an amuse bouche of asparagus velute which was missable, a crab risotto which was delicious, slow roast belly pork with truffle mash which was superb and a light, sweet desert which rounded the meal off nicely.
The service was charmingly eclectic.
The hotel also through in a VIP discount card for Bicester village which my wife utilised enthusiastically the next day.
All in all a very pleasant trip.

Room Tip: Close your window as the baker delivers at 2am and has a noisy van!

It was very pleasing to read that you both enjoyed every aspect of your stay with us here at The Feathers, despite the thought of tackling Bicester Village with your wife and an additional 10% off with the VIP card. I do hope that we can welcome you back to us in the near future.
