We stayed over the bank holiday, as part of a secret escapes deal including entry to Blenheim Palace and VIP offer at Bicester Village.
We got there about midday, and although room wasn't ready, we collected our voucher and went off to Blenheim and came back and checked in. That was first plus point - we received a free upgrade to one of their deluxe suites. HUGE! Really nice room - only down point was the lack of double glazing. There was a music festival on in the village centre which finished early enough, but quiet a lot of noise from the bar opposite.
Gin bar is great - and the Romanian Barman (sorry - can't remember his name) was very good and guided us around some gins.
Dinner was ok, but could have been better. The first three courses of the tasting menu were all cold with a lot of pickling in the items on the plate. However the main course and pudding were great, and my wife got a different desert as she didn't like nuts, and we got a complimentay cheese course as we didn't really like the mackerel course. So although food was not to our taste, the service was perfect.
Overall, a lovely stay in a lovely hotel - and would recommend to friends.More
