“Great value B&B”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 February 2014

My fiancée and I are getting married in the area, so we have been staying regularly in and around Woodstock. The Townhouse is by far our favourite B&B, as it is well located, clean, well maintained and good value for money. The breakfasts in particular are excellent, and we have always slept very well in the comfortable beds.
I would recommend this B&B for anyone visiting Woodstock and the surrounding area, especially Blenheim Palace which is literally just down the road.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the larger doubles on the first floor.

Old, building means lots of stairs, windy corridors and very low doors. I think disabled access might be a problem here. My room was very clean and had tv, free wifi, comfy bed, tea / coffee facilities and most importantly and rare in these old buildings, a decent shower that actually worked. Only snag was my room overlooked the road and was a bit noisy. The highlight was the best breakfast in the village by miles. freshly cooked to order and served in the house's kitchen / dining room. The two lads who run the place were flexible courteous and professional. With their competitive ( for the local market) rates this will be my first choice for my three or four visits a year.

These two men that run this operation are always one step ahead on what you might need- we stayed there for two nights. It is very clean and charming. The doors are a little bit low but it is a historical house. We had to leave early before breakfast and they packed us a very nice lunch- they offered- it was even in a container so the sandwiches stayed fresh and did not squish. There was candy and baked treats on the stair landing for the guests- coffee and tea in the rooms- a nice touch. I would go there again in a heartbeat and would recommend it to the queen.

I was on a business trip to Oxford and was recommended to stay in the charming town of Woodstock. All the main hotels were fully booked but I'm rather glad as I found The Townhouse guest house which is right in the centre of the town and served by free on street parking outside.
Nice, comfortable room, beautifully cooked breakfast and all for £55. Highly recommended.

It was or 3rd B&B in 3 days and it was wonderful and charming (even the weather), why....? because is situated in Woodstock, a lovely English village like in a storybook, the nice comfortable rooms with a lot of nice cosy details: chocolate, potpourri etc. it made you feel at home. Jason was a true host with a lot of recommendations for pubs, restaurants etc. The Blenheim Palace really around the corner, parking at the front door!!! The breakfast was wonderful, freshly made coffee as much as you like, in a very nice breakfast area. Jason & Team, you do a wonderful job!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. Very clean and comfortable room, helpful host and excellent breakfast. The town is a great location for Blenheim Palace and the Cotswolds. We would love to return.

We stayed at this small hotel for two nights in September. As the name suggests it is a traditional townhouse situated in the High Street in the centre of the town.

The house was warm and very comfortable, clean and had many little extras (like sweets on the hall table and pot pourrie and diffusers dotted about). Our room at the top of the house was quite small, but very clean an comfortable with a good hospitality tray. We had a small, clean shower room and our window looked over the High Street.

The two young men who run the hotel could not be more welcoming or helpful - carried our heavy case up to our room and offered information about the locality. Breakfast is served in the conservatory room adjacent to the open plan kitchen (in good weather we understand this can be served in the garden). The breakfast menu was extensive and 'flexible'. We could have had a bacon/sausage sandwich instead of the traditiional breakfast if we so wished.

Lovely time - will hopefully return.
