“Quaint hotel”

This quaint hotel is located just a short walk from Blenheim Palace. The hotel is meticulously kept and my room was well appointed with a very comfortable bed and modern bath. The restaurant served up some wonderfully delicious food. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was due to the noise level. My room faced the street and the traffic noise woke me each morning very early. I will still give it high marks and recommend it, and I would return.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is off the street. There is a bit of road noise. If your room faces the street...

One of my favourite places to stay in Woodstock unless you get a room that´s facing the main road. The old windows were apparently not made for noise insulation from cars and roadworkers. From 6 in the morning it can get really really noisy. Apart from that the place is great. Nice rooms, great breakfast and excellent coffee. A drink at the bar is also recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not facing the main road.

We arrived Friday night around 9.30 pm - had not booked the restaurant but were shown to a lovely table in a very appealing room. Delicious food, extremely welcoming staff. Our room was lovely with a queen size bed, so comfortable - loved the Molton Brown toiletries.Woodstock was half a mile away from Blenheim Palace. Had a fabulous Saturday - after visiting castle we sat in the square listening to bands. We had booked bed breakfast and evening meal - what a good package this was - food was locally sourced - the evening meal came with half a bottle of champagne - my husband's lamb shank and cheese board was delicious. My scallops and trout were so tasty. The staff is quite young but has been so well trained. They are genuinely helpful and cannot do enough for you. Loved the antique shops in Woodstock. We will be staying at the Kings Arms again when we visit Oxford in a few weeks.

Room Tip: We had a room on the second floor as we had booked two weeks before the Bank Holiday so if you do no...

This hotel is lovely and very well run. Greeted promptly, given details and shown to our room, lovely size room and good bathroom with bath and shower, Molton brown products and lovely soft towels.

Our room was at the front of the hotel which does mean some noise from cars and a lot of noise from people drinking and smoking outside so we could not have the window open as would have been even worse! That was fine for us as the weather had turned a little chilly but I would not be happy if it was a hot night.

We are in the restaurant and the food was very nice, service was very good to start with but got a little slow towards the end, we asked for 5 mins before seeing the dessert menu but after 25 mins they still hadn't come over although they had been coming back and fourth and we also had empty glasses for all that time having said all that it wasn't a problem as we wasn't in a rush.

Breakfast was in the restaurant/bar, the continental was not great, good cereal mixture but no pastries to choose from (you could order a hot croissant) cooked breakfast was lovely and nice to get a rack of toast rather then DIY, staff very nice and very attentive.

They don't have someone moaning reception all the time so we had to ring the bell four times before someone came for us to check out but they was very apologetic and check out was quick and painless.

I would definitely return here and recommend it.

My only complaint and it is a small one is when you are paying for a high end meal I would expect to have a proper material napkin not a paper one but no big deal.

This is a beautiful hotel that has elegant decor, is scrupulously clean and efficiently run. The restaurant has great food and there is even an old fashioned English bar. But, the best thing about this establishment is the friendly and helpful staff. They must be congratulated on their attitude, politeness and helpful manner.
We would definitely return to this lovely hotel and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay here. The King's Arms is a classic example of the current vogue for a restaurant with rooms / small hotel, furnished in modern country style, all greige in colour, clean, modern and bright. All thoughtfully designed and finished. We were greeted warmly and professionally on arrival (all staff we met were very good, obviously they have a good recruitment strategy) and shown to our room on the top floor, a large room, with modern bathroom and great walk in shower. Molton Brown toiletries was a nice touch. The restaurant was very busy on the first night, really buzzy in atmosphere. We found service to be attentive and friendly, all the staff were charming. It was less busy on Sunday, as you'd expect, but service was consistent. The food was universally excellent on both evenings, generous portions, and nice seasonal ingredients. Breakfast on both mornings was also good, hosted in the bar area, with a reasonable choice (continental buffet was not the broadest choice, cooked was great). What stops me giving 5 stars was down to the road noise. The hotel is in a great location, in the heart of the charming town of Woodstock, brilliant for Blenheim, and great for Oxford, Bicester outlet, Cotswolds etc. It is also, though, located adjacent to a busy main road and, being a historic building, it retains it's original wooden single glazed sash windows. While this is attractive, it does mean there is some road noise as the rush hour gets going in the morning. Some form of secondary glazing would be helpful. Having said this, I would definitely stay here again, and recommend it, despite the traffic.

Stayed here for 5 nights while working in the area. The hotel was clean and tidy, bed was comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. Sadly parking arrangements are complicated as hotel doesn't have car park.

Room was very noisy being on the corner and had people drinking just outside the window until midnight.
