Took 9 of my family, ranging in age from 2 to 65 for Sunday lunch at the Red Lion. We love eating here, the pub is beautifully decorated and the new front of house team were great but the star of the show was as ever, the food. Baked Camembert, charcuterie, crab mayonnaise......roast pork, seafood spaghetti, stunning steaks and fish and chips. All good :) definitely recommend giving it a try, you will go back.

Thank A R

On Saturday night five of us travelled to the Red Lion for an evening meal as it had been recommended to us by friends. We had booked a table and even though the pub was busy, a member of staff quickly seated us, took our drinks order and gave us some menus to browse through whilst she fetched our drinks. The menu was perfect - not a bewildering number of dishes to choose from and there was nothing on it that didn't appeal to us! When the food arrived it had obviously been freshly prepared and cooked and was impossible to fault. The Barnsley lamb chops were wonderful and my step mother's sirloin steak simply melted in the mouth.
We were not all able to manage desserts but my husband's serving of profiteroles with strawberries, chocolate mousse and warm chocolate brownie was to die for (I did have to sample it!)
We loved this pub and the food was exceptional - it's definitely worth a visit.

What a find! I'd read about this in a recent newspaper review of best doody pubs - and the positive review was more than deserved. The service was friendly and prompt, the food absolutely delicious (every single thing we tried) and reasonably priced. We loved the way the room was decorated - lots of eclectic art on Farrow & Ball coloured walls. Restful and attractive. Oh, and the women's loos are worth a visit for the artwork! Highly recommended - we'll definitely be going again.

Just popped along to have lunch with my wife and two boys. Very friendly staff and the food was excellent. Banoffee pie was unbelievably good! The only criticism was the slow service, but with food that good, I didn't mind waiting - the boys had fun in the garden anyhow on the trampoline and playing cricket.
