Description: Proudly independent, Quantum Web Cafe is Reading's longest established Internet Cafe, first opening our doors in February 2000. Since then, many updates, services and decor changes have occurred, but we still pride ourselves on excellent service and a friendly atmosphere, whether you're using a PC, or just coming in for coffee or a meal. The first floor consists of PC's, Xbox and a hire-able private office for sole or for meetings, and the ground floor consists mainly of cafe seating (including tables outside) but with a few PCs for quick access. Quantum was runner up in 2011, 2012 and 2013 in Reading Retail Awards and winner in 2014 of the 'Favourite Coffee Shop' category. Come and try our quirky little cafe and watch the world go by!

I've lived in the Reading area for years, but today was the first time I'd paid a visit.
Just what was required on a Sunday morning before doing a spot of Christmas shopping.
Friendly service, nice relaxed venue and the two cups of tea and sausage sarnie were very good value.
One suggestion...I wouldn't bother with the crisps and slices of tomato alongside your sausage sarnie, Quantum Web Cafe. No need. It's great value anyway!
Will definitely pay another visit.

Thank you so much, Dave, for your review. As we always say, we really appreciate the time people take actually logging in and writing a few lines about our little cafe. I'm glad you enjoyed your visit, we're very proud of our team there! The sausages are freshly made by hand every day from the local butchers and they never fail to disappoint! The crisps and salad is an interesting point and it's true they don't sit so well as a breakfast accompaniment and this also applies to bacon sarnies. That said, we started adding it some time ago because some people felt that even though it was a breakfast meal, they wanted the 'extras' that came with it that the more 'lunchy' options have as 'standard.' Perhaps we should simply ask the question first?! Thanks again!

Quantum cafe just gets better and better. Current staff are very helpful and polite. Food is a mixture of coffee-shop style snacks - muffins, cakes etc, or cooked pub-grub type food, baguettes, melts, fry-ups, cheese on toast that sort of thing, but is always tasty and much much cheaper than going to one of the corporate chain outfits. And now featuring screensavers with information on the artist and track title of the music currently playing !

Thank you, Guitardog, for your time. I know you have reviewed us before and we really appreciate the updated viewpoint. There's been a lot of work done over the last six months, although most is behind the scenes, but the credit has to go to the long serving team who seem to be going from strength to strength. I'm really very proud of them and they make a big difference when dealing with customers. We will continue working and improving as we are passionate about providing that service, and ensuring that people like yourself are properly looked after and made to feel welcome. Thanks again for your time and we hope to see you soon!

An amazing little find right at the heart of Reading and located along one of Reading's most historic alleys! Brilliant service and great food! There is always something interesting going on at Quantum. The team really put a lot of thought into their service and how to stand out from the crowd! Love it - definitely worth a visit or several!

This really is a fantastic web café. It's hidden, off the main street in an alley, but once you find it you will love it as much as I do.

It's really easy to use the computers and internet here. You are given a laminated set of instructions when you arrive and you are only charged for the time you use the computer. If you print the charge is per page and you pay a little more for colour than black and white.

The staff are very patient and very helpful. Even when the café got busy the staff got everyone through their computing with a smile. I was impressed with this because some of the customers were quite rude at times!

There are lots of computer terminals, seating upstairs, clean toilets and a great menu. I was pleased to see home cooked food and soya milk. They serve fantastic breakfasts too.

It's really a pleasant place to be so the next time you need to work on the computer you should try it here.

Thank you so much 432JJ for your lovely review. As a reviewer myself, I know that you really do have to make an effort to spend the time writing these, but as a business owner I can't tell you how much we appreciate it. We spend A LOT of time making sure the PCs are running properly at all times, the staff (including me!) are doing what they are supposed to, and everyone is happy. As you have observed, it's not always easy! But we are definitely passionate about what we do and even all these years we still find it a fascinating trade to be in and, to be fair, most customers are an absolute pleasure to look after.
So thanks again for your review and your time. I promise you we will do everything we can to ensure we maintain a lovely environment for you and everyone else. There's still (and always will be) more for us to do, but getting a review like this means we're probably on the right track.
Kind regards
Jason

Popped in for tea for two. Lovely little cafe tucked away from the crowds. The tea was ordinary but milk in a jug!

Thank you SO much for taking the time write a review, so important for us little independents! We DO have a range of herbal and specialty teas by Twinings, but we keep our 'normal tea' (for want of a better word!) nice and simple, PG Tips in fact! Thanks again, and hope to see you soon. Jason.
