This is a museum with so many different things to see. You could spend two or three hours in it and not see everything. It's well set out, and has some good specific collections, such as the fascinating Huntley and Palmers biscuit tins. There is a good Victorian schoolroom which children love. The cafe is excellent too. Definitely worth spending a few hours browsing here.

We took family friends who were visiting because the museum is amazing. Really interesting and full of activities for visitors - old and young alike!

It's a good size little museum to manage with small children (2, 4 and 8 months) and they enjoy the animal gallery with stuffed animals, there is a little something for them to do/ participate in in most of the rooms and we always come to the make and takes in the school holidays which they really enjoy. Nice café, and helpful staff!

This museum is a great surprise. It has several really interesting exhibits. However its piece de resistance is a full scale reproduction of the Bayeux Tapestry. It is worth going there for this alone.
