This little pub is always busy that's because the staff are friendly the beer is good and the home good food is even better especially the home made chips, the best i have had in a long while. They do rooms too but I have not stayed here. Fab location for walking & cycling and if your lucky an amazing display from the pubs peacocks.

We spent a few nights herre with our dogs as we love walking. This was a wonderful weekend. Good Food a,mazing quaint four poster bedrooms, Breakfast in Bed. Even though after trying all the local ales and the top row of Whiskey me and my partner had a great stay. wouldn't hesitate to go there again. If you go Paintballing in the area i would suggest you stay here.

I was introduced to The Strines Inn when a friend mentioned they'd been there and really liked it. I went myself not long afterwards with some friends and found the Inn to be a comfortable and relaxing place, with great service and wonderful food. Great for after long walks in the Peaks, or if you just fancy good food in a great peaceful location! Highly recommended!

What a treat, sat outside soaking up much needed sunshine with entertainment from the resident peacocks. Welcoming bar staff offered samples of local beers to help us make our choices. The homemade chilli served in a large Yorkshire pudding was perfectly seasoned. Definitely going to return whenever in the area - ranks highly in our list of favourite places.

It is astonishing that such gorgeous scenery can be found within a few miles of a major industrial city, but being on the doorsteps of the Peak District is Sheffield's justified claim, and the route between Moscar and Bradfield is amongst the prettiest in the region. But how familiar we are with establishments trading purely on the strength of the setting, while falling short on the quality of product and service? Rather than a way of exploitation, establishments should regard the setting as a privilege. Fortunately for the Strines, the product is sufficiently reasonable to rule out blatant exploitation, but the Strines could do a little more, and then it would gain that right to factor the setting into the whole offering.
Turning up at about 5pm, the all-day food service was useful. There was the usual range on the menu but the Giant Yorkshire Pudding variations seemed to be their forte. Instead I went for the Halibut Steak on the specials board, which at under a tenner is very good value for this expensive fish. Wife and daughter chose the Sea-Bass. The halibut was large, thick, tasty and properly cooked, and accompanied by a fresh mixed salad - very good, and with some very tasteless peas. The bass was small, because it was only a single side, and just slightly overcooked.
Service was cheerful and polite and the meal arrived about 15 mins after ordering. I ignored coffee - the Strines needs to reconsider the £3 charged for a large espresso.
So reasonable value food though some portions small, good service, helpful all day meals, at least adequate overall.
