Stayed here for a 1 night stay on the friday 10 feb with 3 work colleagues ,on arrival we were greated with a smile and a very help full lady who quickly booked us in and given keys for our room as we didnt arrive till around 7pm.We dropped our bags into our rooms and went straight down for a evening meal which was excellent value ,also the beer was good both bitter and lager as working hard all day you look forward to a nice drink. The only thing i would like to say is charging £4 pounds for buttered bread with fish and chips is a bit steep could i suggest to you to loose the price within the meals it would look better to the guests not seeing this on the bill. The room was very clean and warm which i would say is a credit to the owners.Breakfast the next morning was a full english breakfast whick i asked to be cooked at 7.20am that morning which wasnt to much trouble for them a big Thank you.I regularly work in and around this area and will return.

On arrival, on the evening of February 3rd, '12, we were warmly greeted and attended to by a friendly member of staff, who took us through to reception After registration, we were shown to our second floor room.

The room, itself, was comfortable, with plenty of room to move around, with ample storage cupboards and wardrobe. The bed was extremely comfortable (and it proved to be one of the best night's sleep we have ever experienced).

The room, and adjoining en suite, was clean and tidy. Although a little dated, there was plenty to cheer - a large, efficient radiator, a wall-mounted flat-screen TV, touch-sensitive bedside lamps and a very satisfactory shower.

In the evening, the bar was well stocked, the service polite and frienly and the ambiance pleasant. Our breakfast, in the lounge/dining area, was splendid, with continued good service.

Altogether, this was a really enjoyable stay and we would both recommend this hotel and re-visit, ourselves.

Room Tip: It might be advisable to ask for a first floor room, if there is a problem with lots of stairs to cl...

OK, plus points for here are the very friendly staff and the breakfast isn't too bad at all (although being rationed to one slice of toast each was possibly taking cost cutting a step too far). Decent off road car park, decent dining room for your breakfast.
Now the bad points, we were placed in the attic, the entire floor had no heating (chilly in December!), to be fair the friendly maintenance guy tried to fix it, and brought us a temporary heater which warmed us up - unfortunately it was the kind that was thermostatically controlled so we had it clicking on and off all night. Still the noise from that didn't distract from the noises from the roof (probably best not to ask...).
Shower was archaic and very very hot at times. Facilities were very worn.
Worst of all, the bed. The worst bed I have ever slept in, and I'm not exaggerating. The base was about to die, the springs had completely gone in it, there was a single bobbled cotton sheet separating the mattress from me and so I ended up being read raw from it. And the creaking, well, it sounded like an asthmatic goat. Terrible. The hotel needs to up its game as the website is not what it is like in reality. Shame really, nice staff!

Room Tip: I'd say avoid the top floor...

I cannot believe this experience cost us £60, our room (22) was tiny, barely room to swing a mouse. Bathroom equally tiny with a paper bath mat, small towels, ridiculous excuse for a shower with a dribble of water coming out of it that took ages to get hot. The hotel corridors were dark and had an awful musty smell and were more reminiscent of a doss house as opposed to a hotel. The girl that checked us in and was working the bar was lovely, but the lady the next morning at breakfast was very curt and unhelpful, breakfast was okay but like everything else was very small. Car park was a mess and did not seem safe, you could not control the heating in your room, the bed was not very comfy. This is NOT a hotel and is badly in need of a complete overhaul. We would NEVER stay here again as it was a rip off for the price, we have stayed in much nicer places in Sheffield for less.

Room Tip: Don't stay here

Checked into this "hotel" and was shown to my room........within 5 minutes I had checked out again!
The place smelt and there was no way I would use the rusty shower or get into the bed.

Would NEVER stay there!!!

Room Tip: Drive by and find a better one!

I spent last night here as I was visiting my "student" daughter, and it was very close to her accommodation. I found the staff very Friendly and helpful. My room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was excellent.
Had a couple of drinks in the bar, where there had several "Real Ales" on the pumps, and although it was a little quiet (dont expect city centre atmosphere, this is in a quiet leafy street), it was still enjoyable.
