My partner and I spent Christmas Day lunch here and thought it was fantastic. The food was beautiful and so much of it we couldn't finish all our courses. The staff were excellent, we felt really looked after!
We will definitely return here and would definitely recommend it for Christmas!!!

Stayed here for a business trip recently. Receptionist was snappy and rude. The room was cold and poorly lit. It was also very noisy as the laundry cupboard was beside it and the staff got up at 6am to use it. The tea/coffee making facilities were disappointing. One teabag for a double room! The breakfast was poor, I didn't even get what I had ordered and the small boxes of cereal was not something a 4 star hotel should offer. The actual room for the breakfast was so depressing. Paint chipped off the walls. I wanted to leave immediately! The fittings of the room were awkwardly placed and the basement room I was put in was difficult to find and tough to get to with luggage.
Will definitely not recommend, nor use again.

We went to a corporate dinner here and were very pleasantly surprised. Most hotels offering Christmas dinners to office parties are a real disappointment. The Rutland however laid on a very good quality Xmas meal, with decent portion sizes. Service was very good too!
I hope my wife's boss picks this place next year as well!

I stayed two nights during the middle of the week. They gave me the top floor room facing the street. There are no lifts in the hotel so I lugged 6 stone of luggage up the narrow stairs. Definitely make their staff get your luggage to the room! The room was an attic space. The bathroom had been recently updated but was definitely crammed into a small space. Overall it had a lot of character and I enjoyed the stay because I got a decent rate. However, don't be fooled by the 4 star rating. The location was accessible by bus and walking, but it is pretty far away from the city centre or shopping areas. Very close to the botanical gardens however. I would come back to this hotel if the price was right.

It would seem it ia very hit or miss with these rooms. have stayed previously in a perfectly adequate but the room i am currently stuck with is pokey, dark and cramped.

There is virtually no sound proofing. I have a cupboard at home that is bigger than the bathroom. Lavatory is squashed between a wall and shower. i am a small built female who can only just fit in the space. shower is clean but tiny.

Avoid this place. the location might be good but no telling what sort of room you'll get for your money. anyone with high standards will be disappointed. i would have a better, cheaper room at a travelodge. I certainly will not return in a hurry.

£80.00 for a single room in the attic space that had been converted, I felt like I was sleeping in a ships cabin !!! and my feet were pressed up against the tiny wardrobe at the bottom, the only decent thing was the bathroom, heated mirror so it did not steam up good shower as well, but this is not a 4 star hotel as rated, duct tape holding carpet together and dust everywhere, I think they over charge for the rooms as its next to the hospital, I only booked here as could no get in any where else, the hotel is no good for people if they have disability's, Yes its old Houses joined together but they need to make improvements

I really enjoyed the experience of this chic little boutique hotel.

The meal was lovely, though the menu was a little limited. Breakfast was terrific and cooked to order, not buffet style like so many other hotels these days. The waitress was even kind enough to bring me glasses of cold milk from the kitchen.

The rooms are very well presented though room 64 has a small issue of space and is a little small, particularly at the foot of the bed to the desk. I don't drink tea or coffee so cannot comment on these facilities.

The staff are very helpful and the parking is a good bonus, though the spaces are a little narrow.

Location was great for my visit to the University of Sheffield.

Overall I was very satisfied.
