I was here for 3 nights for business, booked the night before and got a double room for £35 a night. Don't expect a hotel, it is essentially a bar with 18 rooms which are basic but clean. room...Consisited of small flatscreen tv with built in dvd and freeview. tea/coffe making facilities, adequate storage, and en suite (shower, sink toilet) with toiletries and plenty of clean towels. location... 200m from don valley and sheffield arena, plenty of food outlets, and host to the only bar you'll need (good beer, reasonabley priced, cheap pool, great duke box, good home food), area is a bit run down but only i think looks this way as some businesses have ceased to trade so few shops borded up. but is only 5 minute walk to tram station which gets u anywhere in sheffield within 10 minutes. Fantastic base. Plenty of cash points around too. Staff... in keeping with the theme, they were all friendly, local people, (think family run b & b) who couldn't do any more for you, dealt with all my queries and directed me perfectly over the phone including trams i needed to take etc. I would reccomend this to contractors, business professionals attending meetings, anyone going to an event concert etc, any one looking for a cheap base. If you need a cheap place to stay, with free parking, look no further, it's clean and friendly and has anything anyone really needs, please don't come if you are used to finer hotels, its not that this isnt one, but appeals to people liking friendly staff and those that like to have a good laugh. The business does not need or merit any bad reviews from closed minded indivduals who think they will get 4 or 5 star hotel accomodation for £30 a night. I would stay here any day over a premier in or travel lodge without question and wont look elsewhere if im back in the sheffield area.

And regarding the comment posted about the dog......it is the friendliest, old waddling, loved family pet i've ever seen and couldn't even hurt itself.
