The beautiful city parks in Sheffield have made it one of the " greenest " cites in Europe. Weston Park is one of those green spaces designed as " gardenesque" with winding paths, extensive lawns, trees, flower beds and a bandstand. With a first rate museum, telling Sheffield's story, Weston Park is not to be missed!

Great park for a picnic with lots of open space, good view of the Arts Tower, duck pond, usually an ice cream van and then there is Western Park Museum which is well worth the visit

Popped in today with my 5 yr old. Not been for a year. So much potential but in the end disappointing.

Lots of exhibits for kids were either missing or not working. I know it gets busy and little hands are playing with stuff all the time but come on. Everything should be in working order.

The Aectic area looks shabby and the tops of the white domes are filthy. Lack of books in the reading area; lack of instruments in the music area.

Nice addition of the kitchen to show what bugs live in your house. Shame a cupboard door is missing. Impossible to see the bird exhibition as so dark.

The underground tunnel is always a favourite but flaps missing left me feeling a bit like no one really cares about the place.

A few of the rock exhibits were missing; the bee colony had died. I know this can't be helped but the cordoned off area looked awful.

The art gallery is nowhere near as good as it was before ££££s of lottery money was spent on it. If you want kids to create art then at least provide some paper and colours.

The WW1 exhibit had a few interesting pieces and there were a lot of 'talks' going on for adults today. All good.

The cafe felt over priced. £15 for kid's meal, a tuna panini, chips and cup of tea. Daughter had finished her lunch by the time mine arrived - and it wasn't busy.

Overall it all felt a bit shabby and neglected and I was reminded why I hadn't been for a year or so.

Another jewel of a museum in Sheffield.

We went to see the exhibit on Sheffield people in the First World War - which was excellent.

There is so much more to the museum as well and they have gone out of their way to present the history (social, economic, industrial, and natural) in a child friendly way. The museum seems a perfect grandparent and grandchild outing for a Saturday morning.

Good tea and coffee in the cafe at a reasonable price

It can get very busy with students on a warm day, but it is very well-kept and clean. The museum cafe is very good. Probably not sensible to walk through late at night, but the main paths are well-lit and the gates always unlocked.
