It's busy all the time, doesn't matter if your in a wheelchair or have a pram you just get bumped about, needs a one way system installed, besides that lots of shops and business's.... Plenty to eat and drink, new drinks bar called bubbleology I think near oasis at bottom
Reasonable indoor shopping centre, although it doesn't seem as well laid or smart as the Trafford Centre.
Access from the M1 isn't as easy as it could be.
Looks like it may be undergoing a revamp which it needs.
Came here for a drink at the end of the day after shopping, the staff seemed rushed off their feet considering they were only serving myself, we ordered 3 pots of tea, one which didn't have a kid so they used an espresso cup as a lid, we also had an Americano & Latte and 5 cakes between us. There were 3 people to in serve us all at one time. The coffee machine was dirty and didn't look like it had been cleaned all day. I was also surprised to see their there wasn't a manager on duty, I thought all shops were supposed to have one present. When I asked for sweetner as there wasn't any in the rack, the man just picked a handful up from the box and put them in the rack, rather then offering me some.
While on a visit to Yorkshire on my return journey we decided to have a break and call in to The Meadow hall Shopping Centre and Wow !!! what a surprise, it is nearly 10 years since our last visit which was a regular trip when we lived in Leeds, it is having a re-vamp and what a fantastic job they are doing, do not be put off with the usual rubbish etc collected with any job but be surprised at the quality of shops within the centre and be further surprised at the number of food outlets available to the hungry shopper.from Sushi to Italian..Chinese..Burgers of all kinds this area is worth a visit in its own right and for my money the "Jewel In The Crown" us ZiZi's an outstanding Italian restaurant with first class food and service, we were greeted by a very pleasant young man who was to look after us through our meal and he held the smile throughout our visit, he was a very professional waiter and with the slight assistance of his colleagues they all made our visit one to remember...Pasta..Garlic Bread..Wine and Coffee for 3 people came to £60 and was worth every penny. This was one of our most enjoyable meal out for a very very long time.
Don't live far away so visit regularly and always enjoy it (if not too crowded). I don't know who designed the "new look". But it doesn't work! The bits that are almost complete look boring and cheap. Not as good as it was before. It only needed repainting and smartening up. It's progressing far too slowly as well. SORRY!! Still enjoy it but upgrade is a downgrade.
Meadowhall Shopping Centre is one of best centres I have had the pleasure to visit. It has all the major shops except John Lewis which I think they will regret not having a presence due to the success Meadowhall has achieved. It has an excellent food hall and cinema complex plus children's play area so spending a day at the complex is a very pleasurable experience.
