Even though you seemed to be completely in the countryside, the location is only a few miles from Sheffield, which was great for meeting up with local family, theatre and meals.
Really lovely fully equipped cottage on the edge of the peak district yet close to Sheffield city centre. Perfect location for walking cycling or horse riding. Really friendly welcome, dog friendly and peaceful. Great wifi, comfortable bed, warm despite it being freezing cold outside, just what you need after a day in the hills!
I booked this cottage for a few days just before Christmas so that I could see my family during the festive season.
What a marvelous place for us all to get together. A beautiful cottage with great amenities. On site was Alan, who was so helpful and provided extra dining chairs and highchairs, so that the whole family was able to sit together at the extended dining table.
There was a lovely Christmas tree, and fairy lights round the beams.
We were warm and cosy, and enjoyed ourselves immensely.
Some difficulties in finding the cottage in the farm in the dark. However, once in, we found a very well equipped place with modern furnishings. A lovely welcome and the owner went the extra mile for us. In the morning, the views are outstanding. We were so happy there we could have stayed longer.
We spent a most enjoyable week here, a mix of visiting family and enjoying the Peak District countryside. My Mum celebrated her 92nd birthday whilst we were there, and I chose the cottage specifically for the disabled facilities as I wanted to cook a birthday lunch for her. The car parking is immediately in front of the cottage. It is a farm yard, and not level (you are in the Peak District) but Mum had no hesitation in stepping out of the car, so easy to get her into her wheelchair. From there it was a doddle to get her into the cottage, level paved terrace and the owners provided a wide ramp to get up the small step at the front door. Once inside there is plenty space for the wheelchair in the living space and bathroom, and Mum used the bathroom with confidence.
We found the cottage comfortable with a well equipped kitchen, although you do need to take your own tea towels and kitchen towel. The owners live in the farmhouse, they are friendly but not intrusive, and we found them very helpful. We had such a great time I've already booked for next year!

We had a lovely stay in this very well equipped cottage, which is situated within the grounds of a working farm and equine centre. The cottage is in a very good location with easy access to the Peak District and particularly the Derwent valley and dams etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the owners could not have been more accommodating and we arrived to find a selection of goods in the fridge and bread basket, including milk, butter, bread rolls and a bottle of wine. The only thing I would advise is, if you are a disabled visitor, that you tKe a small shower stool for the wet room as there isn't one provided. Other than that we could not fault the place.

The cottage was very nice and very well equipped. It is set on a working farm and it was lovely to wake up in the morning to the sounds of the animals.
