Walking through the hustle and bustle of Sheffield (just out of the train station) and stumble across this - unexpected but a nice little haven. Would've liked to bring lunch and sit on one of the benches.

It is a nice area to stay dry when it's raining, or eat lunch. The museum and gallery was educational and interesting as it was about Sheffield.

This place is tucked away in the city centre and is only small, however it is lovely.

There is a nice selection of plants and some birds that fly in. The landscape is nice to walk round and as my child says 'the floor is warm'. There is also the Millennium Galleries attached which is free to look round.

There is also a small selection of shops and eateries.

We visited Sheffield City Centre today, initially to look at the Peace Garden but nothing was happening there.
Our friends said - 'lets visit the Winter Gardens, they are free' - also they had never been there. We were all pleasantly surprised. Lovely building, and a small but interesting collection of plants and trees leads through to the Millenium Gallery which is also free and had good quality and engaging displays. Together with the Gallery it is great way to spend 2-3 hours including a nice cafe with good fresh food in the lower floor too.
