Alas, unacceptably poor experience last week.
Unlicensed which is not obviously mentioned in reviews.

that aside - service was very poor, food was very bland and oiled-down.
Without a doubt the worst curry house experience of my life, without exception.
A shame as we expected a lot more given other reviews.

Turned up after google review. Papadoms and pickle arrived and were ok. Chicken rogen josh arrived was really bad - poor flavour oily and countaimed some broken glass (Kid you not). Veg jalfraizi was ok. Drinks never arrived u till we asked 3 times and were half way through the glass curry. Avoid.

We usually go to the Chaman (now called Lahori Dehra) across the road but as that seems to be a bit variable in quality, we tried the Gulshan. It was a pleasant suprise!

There was no-one else in when we turned up, so service was pretty good. Starters of onion bhaji and seekh kebab came quite quickly - the seekhs were spicy and meaty, the bhajis not to oily. We asked for the main courses to be asian/apna style (i.e. without sauce) and so they came relatively dry but nice and spicy. My chicken and mushroom was very good and my companions bhuna was excellent. Roti and nan breads were OK.

We had only water but noticed that the cobra and other beers on the menu were non-alcoholic (this being in very faint print on the menu) - beware drinkers! The bill was less than £18, so brilliant value.

This place was my all time favorite curry house in Sheffield. But over the years it's just gone down hill.
They must have changed chef's because the curry's are now no different from what you can purchase at Asda.
There was a roomer that the old style chef had left, not sure if this is true.
Service is usually brill tho.
