We love the Greystones for its great selection of Thornbridge real ales and atmospheric live music venue, The Backroom.

We have seen many a gig here and love the small nature of the venue which allows the audience to be up close and personal to the musicians, many of whom seem to love playing here. Yes it can be hot and sweaty, but this is a small price to pay for the great atmosphere - far preferable to corporate stadium/arena gigs where you feel like you are watching it on the telly....and probably are most of the time!

Highlights have been Wilko Johnson, Martin Stephenson and the Daintees, Norman Watt Roy, John Ottway, John Renbourn, John Bramwell (don't know why most seem to be called John!) to name but a few.

Gig ticket prices are reasonable £12 - £15, beers are fab and only £1 for a pint of lime and soda if you are driving.

More pubs should be like this! The 'back room' idea is great and we had a good night watching a band, however the size of the back room to the number of tickets sold meant it was a little crowded and warm, the beer was nice but pretty expensive as well. Overall though I would go back!

There are only 2 of 3 reasons to visit The Greystones, If you like Thornebridge Ales, this is one reason to visit as this pub does sell good ales, but its not cheap.
If you like music then this is another good reason to visit, live music from the 70's or 80's with past hero's visiting, or comedy night, you don't get all three at the same time.
If you are making the visit hoping for food, forget it, there is none. The venue is old style done in a modern way, with little atmosphere apart from the "Back Room" or music room, where you need a knife to cut through the fog of body heat!

Been to the Greystones on quite a few occations now with the last two visits to see the Albion Band and Spear Of Destiny. Are paying another visit soon and really looking forwards to the Thornebridge Ales. Not the cheapest beer but if you enjoy a good ale then its worth it. Limited food menu and not much for veggies but what they have is nice. The Yorkshire crisps are a must with your ale!! Not a posh pub by any means but one with loads of character and thats what I like.
The music room has great accoustics and they have a wide variaty of acts on, well worth a visit or two or three ....................................

Good music venue in a suburb pub. Pub sells real ale and food, and the venue is OK, quite intimate with OK acoustics
