Out of all the Mercure hotels I've stayed at, this has got to be the best one. Service was superb (particularly impressed by the Night Duty Manager, Mr. Philip Wellington, as he was so efficient and friendly!), the facilities are very modern and clean, the location is very convenient, and my room ticked all the boxes and more! I stayed in a Privilege Room, most of which are located in the fifth floor. Spacious and tastefully decorated, my room also had a very large and comfortable bed and a Nespresso machine. Breakfast is set in a light and airy area of the hotel and also boasts of many choices, such as a variety of continental meats, yogurts, cereals and hot food. I also enjoyed using the swimming pool as it was clean and of a decent size; however, it did get busy from time to time. The sauna, steam room, igloo, experience shower and aroma grotto in the spa are great touches too. The only gripe I had was the lack of on-site parking. Valet parking is available for £23 a night; however, there is also an NCP car park close by (Arundel Gate). Should you choose to park at the NCP structure, make sure to have your parking chip/ coin validated at the reception desk to get a significant discount off the daily parking rate (£6.50 as opposed to £12.50 per day).

Room Tip: Should you choose to park at the NCP structure, make sure to have your parking chip/ coin validated...

Only stayed for the one night but OH was there for a week. Location is perfect for the main town and uni. Breakfast is of really good quality in a really nice setting. Nothing to complain about!

Parking is a bit away and expensive (but 25% off with hotel) that was the only minor gripe.

A great location and nice design are let down by a poorly run bar which is massively overpriced to squeeze the corporate conference pound. The staff are really comically bad as a rule. try much harder.

Stayed here in May 2014. I was travelling for business and there was a slight misunderstanding in terms of the day we had booked. The staff at the reception desk did have their work cut out for them when a very large group arrived just after we had attempted to check in (and realised there was an issue). After a slightly tense exchange with one of the staff members, the reception desk manager jumped into action and sorted things out for us nice and quickly. He had us upgraded to the premium rooms.
There is a very nice bar in the reception area, the buffet breakfast was plentiful and high quality. The hotel is in a great area with various restaurants, bars and other hotels on its doorstep.
The room itself was lovely, what I have come to expect from the Accor group. I had a room overlooking the peace garden. The bed was large, robe and slippers were provided in the premium rooms. Mineral water, a Nespresso coffee machine, speakers in the bathroom, separate bath and shower as well as great toiletries are some of the features that for me, made this a stand-out stay.
Would stay again!
Additional notes - I made use of the spa to get my nails done which was a nice experience. Many of my colleagues used the gym (which was large and well-equipped) and swimming pool.

This is an excellently run hotel. The staff are excellent as are all the facilities. It is without doubt a first class hotel representing excellent value for money! The hotel is ideally placed for the city centre and adjoining the very pleasant Millenium gardens.

Another one night stay with breakfast. Very welcoming, professional reception staff, and a nice clean comfortable room on the fourth floor with nice city views.
A very good nights' sleep, with excellent breakfast. We'll definitely return when staying in Sheffield.
