I had the pleasure to stay here this week and I was very impressed. A real luxury feel to this place - with the room quality to back that up. A stunning reception area and dining room - which looks on to small botanic garden adjacent. The staff were brilliant - very attentive and quick - this is always appreciated when you just want to get to your room on arrival, and away at checkout! One suggestion here would be that they should as a matter of habit ask guests if they have used the NCP car park (the hotel has no parking). They should tell the guest about the preferential parking rates for guests (if you have your NCP coin swiped at reception). This saved me £12 on the £18 charge - but didn't help my fellow guest at the car park who was very disappointed not to have been told about this by the hotel.

Overall, a great hotel and I'll be back anytime I'm in Sheffield.

Room Tip: Beware the car park! Get your token validated at reception and save a small fortune.

We stayed at this hotel on 14th June for a girlie getaway. We stayed on the spa reviver package and it was well worth the price. The reception staff were helpful, polite and friendly and directed us over the phone to the nearby NCP car park (cheaper than the £20+ hotel parking and only a 2 min walk).

Although the decor in the room was perhaps a little dated, the facilities and view were superb. The ability to listen to the TV or music in the bathroom was a nice touch and the large, powerful shower was a great reviver after an afternoon on the town.

The restaurant has a lovely view into the adjacent Winter Gardens, which sets the atmosphere nicely for the amazing food. The restaurant staff were attentive and prompt at both evening meal and breakfast. We also tried the Champagne Bar in the hotel - we treated ourselves to the speciality Bellinis and were not disappointed! The bar is comfortable and has a great ambiance, the huge windows allow a great view of the surrounding restaurants, bars and landmarks.

The main reason for choosing this hotel was the glowing recommendation a friend had given the spa. I would certainly second that recommendation - the treatment area of the spa along with the relaxation room provides a very relaxing and peaceful environment, ideal for enjoying the blissful treatments on offer. We chose two of the available massages and went away floating on air. The spa treatments were followed up by a visit to the pool and thermal suite - an interesting series of hot and cold experiences including steam room, sauna, aromatherapy room and an ice room. We spent a significant amount of time enjoying these facilities, although it is quite disappointing to discover the lack of a jacuzzi, and the 'underground' pool means a lack of natural daylight, which started to feel a little claustrophobic after a while.

Overall, a lovely experience which will hopefully be repeated!

Hi all, although we live in Sheffield, we keep coming back to stay at the Mecure if we have any social events. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the staff are friendly and welcoming, the food is inviting and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The hotel is also situated near the train station (although up a hill) or you are able to catch the tram for an easier route. The fitness facilities are great, a large fitnes suite, pool, ice room, and two steam rooms. As it is in the heart of Sheffield, you are also near all the restaurants and bars should you fancy trying something different to what the hotel has to offer. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Sheffield

Room Tip: All the rooms are big, with a separate seating area, however, if you are travelling with children I would recommend going for one of the bigger rooms /suites

We stayed at the Mercure Sheffield on the 14th June for one night. We rang up on the day to inquire about parking. We had already booked online but when we rang they double checked the booking and asked us what view we would like. This was a very nice touch. We read a review saying that the parking at the hotel is £20+ for valet parking but they gave us 3 parking options of which was the NCP car parks. They are £7.10 for 24hr they also offer a discount on the Q Car park which is very close to the hotel.
Arriving at the hotel was lovely! It is impressive on the outside and in and is in a ideal location.
Staff we're nice and helpful. The rooms we're big, light and had everything you could need. The bed was the biggest bed iv ever seen! We asked for a view of the peace gardens and that's what we got, it was beautiful.
We didn't have breakfast but it all looked nice when we walked past the restaurant. The pool facilities are good. There is a pool but no Jacuzzi. I think it had a sauna/Steam room too.
Over all it was worth the money, Lovely stay. Thank you

Room Tip: A view of the peace gardens is nice!
