Reviewed 15 September 2013

We stayed for 2 nights at the Premier Inn Angel Street Sheffield. Couldn't find faults. Location was good, within walking distance of everything. Food was good value. No car park but there is a car park within walking distance. The staff are extremely helpful and very friendly. Will be staying again.

The service here was excellent , spoilt only by the noise of other guests and the fact wifi as to be paid for after 30 mins ???? The location is first class, and within reach all Sheffield as to offer. I would stay again but advise that its quite a noisy Hotel with many stag do,s and party people about .

This is a good typical Premier Inn: no frills, no "little extras", but clean and comfortable, plenty of shelf and hanging space, well-appointed bathroom and generally room enough to turn round in (at least). The location could hardly be improved on - most city centre businesses, etc, as well as trams and buses, are a very short walk away. The staff are extremely helpful and very friendly, esepcially in the restaurant. Cooked breakfast is pretty good (variations on the "full English"), with cereals, yoghurt and fruit for those that want them. Evening meals again are good unpretentious stuff - no surprises, but satisfying reliable cooking. And of course it's very good value for money! I spent four nights here for a conference, so I did not need luxuries, and this suited me well.

I stayed two nights at this hotel. It was clean and light, although it probably needs a bit of paint to uplift the corridors and rooms. The beds were comfortable (I booked a twin and was given a double and single in a reasonably sized room) and the towels were large and of a reasonable thickness. I am not keen on 'on the wall' bath products so took my own soap - a simple task. The check-in staff were pleasant and helpful, as were the staff in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. The menus for both meals provided variety. The only problem was on the second night when only one set of towels was provided and we had to reorganise ourselves to go to reception to get the second set. The phone had disappeared during the day! Fortunately reception gave us one towel, but the promise of a bathmat was forgotten. A phone call would have been easy; dressing again to go downstairs would not. Evidently the removal of phones is a new policy, requiring one to use a mobile. Some people do not have one; sometimes the battery is flat, and should one have to pay while waiting to have a problem addressed? The new policy influences how I feel about the properties, although others may feel fine about it. However, I felt it necessary to let people know in what would otherwise have been a really positive review.

Great central location. Parking is in the nearby NCP car park...don't Panic the reception staff activate your car park token to give you the discounted price of £8.50 for 24 hours. For city centre parking this is good! Short walk to the hotel. Very welcoming staff on reception. I had previously spoken to the manager as we had thought we would be in our van and he had kindly arranged alternative parking for us! Our room was clean and spacious and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We asked for extra towels and bedding for the spare bed for our daughter and it was done by the time we returned to our room. The breakfast was great as ever for a Premier inn. Fantastic value and free for our daughter who eats more than us! The lady serving breakfast was so lovely and welcoming and she couldn't do enough for us. It's a great hotel, great value, clean and stress free.
