Sheffield - rock climbing capital of England. As one climbing wall closes, a new one opens. Awesome Walls Sheffield is almost a year old now and has settled into a regular venue for local climbers. With routes ranging from grade 4 top ropes to a number of +7 lead routes, there's plenty for every skill level - including artificial rock, the Prow! Behind the main walls there is even a bouldering area and a number of lower rated toorope routes, if you're a bit intimidated by the 'serious guys' ( but don't be, we're pretty friendly.)
Outside there's plenty of off road car parking on two levels and inside there's a fairly limited cafe. Upstairs there's an open plan warm-up and viewing area, with a small function room for the little ones parties. Overall, this place take care of my indoor climbing needs, with well rated routes, friendly staff and a good atmosphere.
What's missing? A decent changing area with showers, would be useful. And a shop selling basics like chalk balls, finger tape, etc
