“Excellent seafood”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2014

Visited with a large group for a family celebration. Excellent variety of fish, all of which was fresh, delicious, imaginatively served and beautifully presented. Despite slight misgivings about the number of 'specials' on offer we ordered a wide variety of these and they were without exception excellent. My crab thermidor and paella were memorably good, and the accompanying vegetables likewise. Wine list limited, but good quality and reasonably priced. Would happily go again.

“Delicious food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 July 2014

Visited here on a Saturday night at 6pm, and it began getting busy after we arrived. Would recommend booking however if there was somebody in after us we did not feel rushed. The food was amazing, with a menu and then a board with over 20 specials that must change regularly. I had the squid to start, which came with the most amazing homemade sweet chilli sauce. I then had the salmon which was on a bed of spinach in a cream pesto sauce, vegetables also came separately for the table to share. All the food we had on our table of 5 looked amazing, well presented and tasted even better. I was too full for desert, but the ones that came were delicious. The creme brûlée came with a mango puree of some sort, which was a very nice touch.
Overall, despite it being pricy, it is worth the money and better than the chain restaurants you find on Ecclesall road. Will definitely be visiting again.

“Superb”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 July 2014

Visited here purely on the strength of the Tripadvisor reviews and we weren't disappointed.

Initially I was a little nervous of booking as the menus I read online were quite limited and very focused on fish...but hey its a fish restaurant! However once we were actually in the restaurant it became clear that there was an extensive specials board that covered everything from meat, fish and vegetarian dishes.

We had white bait and squid for starters, both fried but both tasted superb in a very light batter. Not a breadcrumb in sight!!!! The spicy dip served with both was excellent.

For our main meals we had Paella and Monkfish. The Paella was absolutely incredible, possibly the best i've had outside of Spain. The Monkfish tasted lovely but was quite a small portion, especially in comparison with the huge portion of Paella. The Monkfish was served with a portion of vegetables which included a generous portion of potato gratin but still it was on the small size. If you are hungry go for the Paella!!!!!

Overall a superb restaurant with a lovely ambience that will take you back to holidays in Greece or Spain.

Highly recommended.

“Discovered Gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 July 2014

Was taken for a birthday treat last night. As a fish lover spoilt for choice. Opted for whitebait which was the best I've ever had and Crab Thermidor equally fantastic. My wife opted for fish soup and the lobster and seafood platter, both were delicious and the platter overflowing with a variety of tasty treats. The tapas menu looked equally appealing and we can't wait to return.

“Tapas selection”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 July 2014

After living in Portugal and working in Spain it was no surprise to try that we tried the Tapas meal especially as we were wanting a 'light' lunch. Advised to go for three dishes per person which I personally think is too much. You can always add another so go for two. The selection is varied though there is quite a bit of fried foods on there such as plaice, whitebait and squid to name a few. Felt as though they have just come out of the freezer instead of fresh and dipped in breadcrumbs. Tapas is not just fried food. Be careful with your selection. Pricey wine selection.

Pleasant bright surroundings and nice ambiance. The venue was perfect for what we wanted on the day.
