I had a really good meal at The Milestone, which would have been excellent apart from a few little annoyances.
They had no record of our booking despite email confirmation, but they managed to get us a table with a little delay. The beer selection is great, as was the wine list.
The food was good and looked amazing but was just not quite 5 star. My slow cooked pigs head was similar to pork rillettes but came with no bread so I had to pay extra for a basket of bread and butter. The take on cheese on toast was great as was the hens egg, but the egg was a little over done. The mains were lovely but I don't see the benefit in slow cooking a pork steak and the risotto was a little runny! Puddings were excellent and very tasty. The food did however represent excellent value.
I will be back and hopefully the very good rating will no doubt become an excellent rating!
