We booked 3 of the rooms for a family get together. All were very nicely appointed with a few quirky features typical of an old building.I understand that the hotel is privately owned and wish them well with the venture to provide something other than a local boozer.
Staff were great and very accommodating with our large party and adapted the menu to give a bit more scope for the 3 children in the party. We thought that the food was pricey but as it turned out the quality was excellent and well worth the money.
A simple phone call established that parking was a couple of hundred yards away over the Ironbridge and certainly not miles to walk to (unless you include the drive to get there!) Unfortunately you cannot have such a nice riverside position and be certain of a big car park.
Perfect position for strolling around Ironbridge and exploring surrounding area and museums.

Room Tip: Our 3 rooms were all spacious and with nice decor. The family room was a bit darker to the side of th...

pub/hotel looks lovely from the outside, shame same cannot be said for all of the inside

Eating areas down stairs looked ok,could do with a deep clean, we didn't have a meal here as the menu was expensive and too over elaborate for the few choices that was on it. the upstairs dining room would definately benefit from a makeover.

There was no phone signal/wifi, which didn't bother us.

The bedroom was a reasonable size but very shabby, the dead flowers did not create a good impression, the shower was mouldy and the bathroom as a whole was not pleasant. The electric sockets did not look safe, and a plug in verminator was not reassuring! The in-room tea and coffee, please provide sachets for the coffee and individual wrapped teabags, loose in a dirty jar was not nice!

Breakfast was suitable with an adequate choice of items. Staff were friendly and helpful.

It had been a very soggy day and we couldn't decide where to eat in the evening. Eventually plumped for the White Hart and had a lovely meal. It wasn't very busy but I was impressed that all the guests dining were offered tables in different parts of the restaurant so the waiting staff had to cover all areas. The lamb was delicious and we would certainly recommend.

We stayed here on a trip to Ironbridge, to visit some of the attractions there. By and large, everything was fine. There are five guest rooms; obviously I can't comment on them all but the one we had was clean, tidy, had a large shower. As the restaurant/bar is a busy popular venue, the sounds from below did carry up to the room during the mid part of the evening, but once the customers departed it was all quiet, and we had a good night's sleep. The wardrobe wasn't large, but enough for the clothes we had for our stay. The hotel has a bistro-style restaurant, so don't expect standard pub fare. We had an evening meal there, and enjoyed it very much - the food was well cooked, tasty and well presented. The breakfast we had was good too. We were made welcome by the hotel staff, who were uniformly friendly and helpful.

The hotel is conveniently located for the attractions in Ironbridge Gorge. Unfortunately - and this applies to all the hotels there - the biggest hassle is parking. It's not the hotels' fault, it's the nature of the location - a narrow gorge with narrow streets and steep hills. There's free street parking near the hotel, but it's a 40-minute duration during the day (if you are lucky enough to find a vacant slot). The best solution is the reasonably-sized long-stay pay-and-display car park just across the Iron Bridge (which is only 150 metres from the hotel). At the present time, the charges there are £1.30 for 1-2 hours, £2.30 for over two hours, and it's all free from 17.00 to 10.00 the next morning - so there isn't too much to complain about, regarding cost. To the key question - would we go back? - the answer is a firm yes.

turned up to no parking then to be told no parking so had to walk a mile to park, then to be showed to a tiny smelly room with a tiny window which was covered by a blind so we couldnt see the wall!! the wardrobe was covered inside by cobwebs and the two skylights had no blinds, the bedside cabinets didnt match and the bulbs didnt fit the lamps it was horrible because of this we ran a mile i suggest you do the same !!!

Room Tip: go to the malthouse instead

The Family and I popped in over the weekend to check out the refurbishment with the intention of having a quick drink & a sneaky look at the menu, however the good lady got her own way & we had a light lunch. I have to say I thought the service was top class & the food was simple but beautiful. Its good to see the place thriving again and even better to have a place on the wharfage we can relax, enjoy good food & wine whilst watching the world go by! Keep up the good work guys!!
