Sat outside for a drink watching the life of Ironbridge go past. Great location opposite the Ironbridge. Good cast beer. Dog friendly. Friendly staff. Serves food but didn't have any so can't comment.

ok for price, room ok, breakfast poor. Night life is lively so if you have a room over the front you need to be a bit of an owl, breakfast 8am -9pm so no lie in - even on a sunday. Staff seemed ok the little we saw of them. we would not return

We decided to take my elderly disabled mother out for lunch and came across this establishment advertising "food served all day". At 11.50 we thought why not, as the menu looked OK. The front door was open as was one of the 2 outer doors so I proceeded to unbolt the other in order for my mother's wheel chair to gain access. I was met with the most obnoxious man I've had the displeasure to come across who glanced up from his paper and barked at us all with WE'RE NOT OPEN,!, I tried to explain both doors were open as he marched over but obviously we were 10 minutes too early for his liking. There are ways to talk to the public and it was not our fault he had left his doors open wide. Needless to say we trotted a quarter mile to a lovely hotel and couldn't have had a more contrasting exoerience (please see my review)

The Tontine is a clean and comfortable hotel right opposite the Iron Bridge. We had a splendid 1 night stay ending up with a beautifully cooked breakfast. The downstairs bar/pub was a pleasant local's place. All in all, a good place to stay for a few nights. PS. We heard no ghosts!

We stayed for 2 nights. Lovely location, overlooking the bridge, shame it was covered though. Room was very nice, spotlessly clean, nicely decorated, plenty of tea, coffee etc. Breakfast was well cooked, tasty and plentiful. Young waitress was friendly and efficient. Looking forward to returning when the bridge renovation is completed.
