We have just returned from a 2 night stay at The Valley. The location is beautiful being set close to the river with a beautiful well kept garden at the rear. It is a popular place for weddings and there was one there on the day of our arrival. The hotel and rooms are unusual as it was originally a private residence but the space has been utilised sensitively. Our first night was disturbed as our room over looked one of the internal communal areas where the wedding guests gathered but when this was mentioned to reception the following morning they were more than happy to move us to the older part of the hotel.

All the staff we had contact with were very helpful and friendly, we only dined in for breakfast but that was of a high standard and would happily stay there again if in the area.

Just returned from a 2 night stay at the Valley Hotel with my husband. Was very pleasantly surprised. Location is idyllic - set within lovely well maintained gardens/woodland. Building is of lovely aged character, but also quirky in parts, and spotlessly clean, and well maintained. It far out shines it's 3 star rating in my opinion. All staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in room 18 which was a real country style spacious room with a lovely tiled fireplace, and 4 poster bed with a very spacious bathroom, and lovely views of the gardens. My only gripe would perhaps be the fact that there was no fridge in the room, and the weather was very warm when we stayed, that said we instead sat outside in the peaceful gardened area with a lovely cool drink from the bar watching the world go by. The main asset of this hotel is the excellent food quality, anyone staying here should definitely take advantage of the half board option. The food is delicious, of varied choice, cooked to perfection, with very generous portion sizes. The sticky toffee pudding (when on the menu) is the best I've ever tasted as are the creamy hotel lattes! I wish we could have stayed longer at this hotel. Thank you Valley for such an enjoyable few days away. Whilst this hotel is set in a peaceful location, Ironbridge centre is easily reached on foot where you can stop and browse at the many antique/gift/craft shops and delightful coffee shops. Overall, a lovely little place to visit for a few days break. Hope to return to the Valley Hotel for a few days again next year.

Room Tip: Room 18 has a lovely garden view, is very spacious, and has a 4 poster bed but is on the 2nd floor of the main building, this hotel does not have a lift as it's a listed building.

This hotel is a great place to stay, fab area lots to see and do. Wish we had time to stay longer but used this as a stopover on our way to North Wales. Will def go back!! Food was fab and really well presented and cooked to perfection. The views from the hotel are great, we made the 15 min walk into the town of Ironbridge along the river bank from the hotel. Our room was lovely and clean brill bed slept really well.

Was exhibiting at the Telford Conference Centre. This hotel was just 15mins away in the country. Pleasant experience away from all the hustle & bustle. Lovely food. Staff were friendly and caring. Breakfast time was busy. Nice gardens to sit and relax with a drink in the evenings.
