You really are walking into the past, faithfully maintained as it was during our grandparents lives. Loads to see, make sure you have the time.

Thank Robert K

Had not been to Ironbridge for 30 years. The Victorian Town is a really good re enactment. All the shops are open on the busy days, some selling products of the right period. The fish and chips were particularly good and it was nice to see the candle making. The policeman has real attitude.
There is a nice walk down the site with a good cafe and a funfare with a variety of rides for the children.

The only thing missing was a veteran car running round the streets.

A little biased as I've visited the Black Country Living Museum a fair few times in the past. This museum is along the same lines but in the World Heritage site of Ironbridge. A full day out, large site so doesn't feel crowded, lots to see and once inside good value for money and good range for refreshments. Some of the staff were absolutely excellent in their knowledge and enthusiasm which made the day. Sad to say though the BCLM has the edge in authenticity (yes the buildings on both sites are mostly lifted and replaced) but the Black Country back story and sawdust and grittiness has the edge on Blist Town. Great though for dogs lovers as your pet is welcome on site and in a number of restaurants and coffee shops in Ironbridge itself.

From the moment you enter this living museum it is like stepping back in time. Nearly all the shops and building are inhabited with costumed people. Change today's money into pre decimal at the bank and pay for items in old money. The fish and chips are to die for as is the pork pies. It's worth looking out for the sing song at the pub as we had a great old sing and a laugh.
