“Top end cakes, coffees and art for sale”
Reviewed 29 June 2014 via mobile

This is a shining example for all local businesses to follow. More than just a coffee house. A beacon of hope in an otherwise culturally void part of the country.

“Don't get 86'd”
Reviewed 26 June 2014

Just found out what 86'd means - Locked out, excluded, no longer available. You just must drop in and try their cakes. These two great women work (very) hard to produce great cakes and lunch time meals. Currently they run evening events from time to time but more people visiting would persuade them to open in the evenings more often. They have a passion for what they do so go out of your way to find them, you won't be disappointed.
It is often hard to recommend local restaurants but for cakes and creative lunchtime menu they can't be beaten.

“Good all rounder”
Reviewed 21 June 2014

We had lunch here while spending the day in Ironbridge. Over all it was fine - I had the breakfast (sausages could have been better) and the other half had a sandwich with salad. The staff were lovely.

“Nice little coffee shop”
Reviewed 21 June 2014 via mobile

We were recommended this place for lunch by one of the other shop keepers in the town. Small and quirky tucked away up some stairs, we felt as if we had arrived in someone's living room! It was slightly awkward because when we arrived it was just the two girls who run it and one other customer deeply in conversation which stopped when we walked in and then an awkward silence ensued between them while we hummed and hahed over the small menu, which is on a blackboard by the counter. I think it would be more helpful if the menu was more expansive in its explanations of what each dish contained and then we wouldn't have had to ask so many questions about everything! Also if one could peruse the menu at ones table and then go up and order it would be better. However we had a delicious, if naughty, simple lunch and although the cakes looked yummy we thought we would try somewhere else for dessert and coffee, not least because it was just a little too intimate for us.

“A real hidden gem in the heart of the Ironbridge Gorge!”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

This little cafe is a real hidden gem and an asset to Ironbridge. The staff are always so friendly it feels like you are having a meal at a friend's house. The menu is varied and interesting with plenty of vegetarian options. It is tucked away on the corner of a mini roundabout at the bottom of Madeley Hill but is very close to one of the village's public car parks. It is only a small venue so you are lucky to get a table at the weekend but the atmosphere is so friendly people often share tables. Local artwork adorns the walls which can be purchased. The food is all home-made, the cakes are amazing and they do a great range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (including retro soda-floats).

My only criticism is that, when we went most recently, my Mum ordered the halloumi and sweet potato tabouleh. There was no mention on the menu of it being spicy and she does not cope very well with chilli. Unfortunately they had actually used chilli halloumi and the dish was really spicy. I couldn't actually eat it! As a spice wimp myself I feel quite strongly about menus alerting you to the level of spice (or at least using chilli in the description). My sister and I had the ham and butter bean soup which was served with door-stop wedges of wholegrain bread and real butter. It was really lovely, filling and wholesome.

They will also do cakes to take away and have a lovely little gift shop with some great crafty finds. If you are visiting the World Heritage Site, or Telford generally, this is well worth a visit and is probably the best lunch venue there is.
