We just enjoyed a 2-week stay at Carpenters Row. We live in the USA and used this as a base to stay while we caught up with friends and family, all of whom live nearby.
The cottage is great! On arrival, the owners had left us some flowers, chocolate and wine which we thought was a really nice touch that puts it above other places we have stayed at.
There are two decent sized bedrooms, one with en-suite, a family bathroom and a large open-plan reception area downstairs. The cottage has plenty of history and character - everyone remarked on it when they visited us.
Everywhere was spotlessly clean, and the two bathrooms and kitchen have all the mod-cons you would need.
On top of all this, it's located in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK. If you like walking, exploring UK history and photography, you will love Ironbridge!
I would highly recommend this property and would love to stay here again when we return to the UK.
Beautifully decorated, and so comfortable, All set up for your arrival, Excellent communication from the owners. Milk, Coffee, Tea,Wine ,Chocolates and Flowers on your arrival . Lots of information on how to work any & everything. Never rented a better equipped cottage. Walking distance to a few of the Ironbridge sites, and the local(s) pub. We would love to go again
Great place. Ideally situated to all the history of the area. Thought of everything. Spotlessly clean. Fantastic shower. Lovely decor. Very generous... Wine chocs even plasters. i give it a 10.
There is a local pub within a short walk, the locals are friendly and welcoming. The Coalbrookdale Museum is also within walking distance. The cottage is absolutely beautiful. Although we did not meet the owners, we spoke to Clare on the phone and she is really friendly.
Eley's Sausage Rolls and Pork Pie by the bridge in Ironbridge are to die for.
Thank you Clare and Stuart,
As we were working we didn't have time to visit any of the local area but the cottage was exactly what we needed. A relaxing peaceful place where we could just chill out. So much better than a hotel and had absolutely everything we needed. The wine, flowers and chocolates were very much appreciated.
For two years in a row we've enjoyed this beautiful cottage. Very well presented and equipped it is deceptively spacious and comfortable. We loved the location, a green valley within walking distance from Irobbridge and a short drive from Telford or other towns in the historical Shropshire. Should i mention the rich choice of nature walks all around this area ?
The cottage is child friendly with lots of safe space to run around. We've also discovered a nice play-park two minutes away walking from the cottage.
All in all everything was perfect.
We just spent two amazing weeks in Britain using this house as a base. Even just in Ironbridge there is so much to do and see. The house itself is great, well equipped, comfortable and big enough for my wife, myself and our two daughters aged 10 and 12. It was such a nice surprise to arrive at the house and find a bottle of wine and chocolates waiting, also everything was clean and tidy with a fresh supply of towels and all beds fully made up. After a long journey from Canada it was just what we needed. From there we travelled to London, to Manchester, to peak district, around the midlands and Ironbridge itself. We would hesitate to book again next time we come to Britain.
