“Full of tasty treats.....at a price.....”
Reviewed 6 November 2013

I visited the Ludlow Food Centre on October 29th 2013, found a leaflet in a tourist place and just thought it looked interesting.

Lots of parking available (despite it being half term) but the queue to be seated in the café was long and not moving so decided to shop instead.

Lovely light and airy building, crammed with foodie treats.

The fresh meats looked delicious but sadly as I was holidaying for a few days and staying in a hotel, it wasn't practical to try any.

There was also a wide variety of very fresh looking veg which looked delicious.

I tried a large tub of the home produced ice cream, salted caramel flavour and can safely say it was delicious and quickly consumed once back in the hotel room!!

Also tried a slice of quiche from the deli and a sausage roll, both excellent and the quiche had more meat in it than any other I have purchased.......very generous portion.

The candied orange slices covered with thick dark bitter chocolate was also delicious......and instead of being saved as a Christmas treat, it was eaten as soon as we got home......wish I had bought more!!

So lots of tasty treats here, but top prices charged.....no surprise there. I frequent a lot of Farmers Markets and the prices were similar, but a much larger choice at the Ludlow Food Centre.

If I was a local, I would definitely be shopping here frequently!

“Foodie fans will love it!”
Reviewed 29 October 2013

We're fans of Ludlow and the surrounding area, having been to the Food Festival and Medieval Festival a number of times. This was the first time that we had been to the Food Centre, after it had been recommended to us by friends. We had gone with the intention of visiting the Food Centre then walking through the Estate into Ludlow but decided against it, after the recent heavy rainfall. This will be the plan next time we visit, making sure we go wearing appropriate footwear! Anyway, the Food Centre had a great selection of local produce and it was nice to see some of the foods being prepared in the on site dairy, butchers and kitchen. After finishing in the shop, we went to Ludlow Kitchen for lunch, where again, most of the menu contained produce which had been grown or reared on the Estate. We had a delicious Gloucester Old Spot bacon and Brie baguette, side order of chips and drinks, all for £23.00, which we felt was good value. The service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. As we left, the queue was out of the door and we could understand why.

Winner of best farm shop 2013 and you can see why. Great choice of products from local wines and drinks and local farm produce. My cousin supplies them with organic potatoes. Wished I lived nearer!!

“Ludlow Food Centre, Shropshire”
Reviewed 17 October 2013

We visited the food centre whilst touring Shropshire and having visited the town of Ludlow. It's not far from the town and has extensive parking facilities. The range of food is amazing, including a huge amount of local produce. The deli, meat and cheese counters are especially worth a visit. We stocked up on lots of goodies.
Next door is an excellent cafe and a small garden centre which has an unusual range of plants and items. Well worth visit .
