Owner description: British Cheese Awards winners in 2017 for a range of products, Farm Shop & Deli Awards Food Hall of The Year 2016, Great Taste Awards Shop of the Year 2015, Britain's Best Food Hall 2014 and Winner of the UK's Best Farm Shop Award 2013. Ludlow Food Centre provides a unique shopping experience where farming, food production and retailing come together to create a very special environment. Watch half of the shop’s produce being created through windows into the production kitchens; see cheese, butter, yoghurt and ice-cream being made using milk from the Estate’s own cows, fresh bread made daily in the onsite scratch bakery and jams and pickles handmade on site. There is also an extensive and knowledgeable butchery selling estate reared meat, deli and coffee roasting room. 80% of the produce sold is sourced from Shropshire and the surrounding counties. The site also offers a gift shop, picnic area and children’s play area, and is also home to Ludlow Kitchen and the award-winning The Clive Restaurant

Visited the Centre on the way back from Malvern. Whilst enjoying a good cup of tea I watched a young man making up bacon rolls. He was using his hands - no gloves or tongs, neither was he wearing head covering. Glad I hadn't ordered one. Whilst much of the produce in the shop is local, why spoil it with watercress from France and mushrooms from Poland? Don't we grow these? Sorry, this just did not do it for me.

Thank you for taking the trouble to write this entry. We have worked hard to maintain our local supply of foods. We source all of our own meat from our estate as well as making on site our own cheeses, ice cream, yoghurt, butter, jams, pickles, bread, cakes, biscuits and ready meals. In addition we maintain a policy of sourcing 80% of our produce locally, and by this we mean from the surrounding four counties. Whilst we never stock imported fruit and veg such as strawberries and asparagus, we try and keep a supply of cooking vegetables in order not to disappoint customers. We have not been able to find good supplies of button and chestnut mushrooms from our suppliers (we normally have local flat mushrooms) and watercress from the UK will come into season soon. We also source much of our own fruit and vegetable from our walled garden.
Thank you for your observation about kitchen hygiene practices. Please be assured that we maintain extremely high standards and that every effort is made to ensure best practice at all times.

Great quality selection. Everything pretty much homemade and the cafe is terrific with even the tomato ketchup homemade. They rear their own animals for meat and veggies from the estate too. This is definitely worth a considerable drive.

A wonderful range of foods locally sourced and prepared. Windows in the wall of the shop provide views of the cheese making, meat preparation, bakery, and more. The cafe is delicious, with great service. A must.
