“Best food and best location in Ludlow”
Reviewed 26 July 2014

This is an absolutely excellent cafe/restaurant. It is only open from 10am until about 4pm and is closed on Mondays. Lunch is served 12.00 until 2.30(I think). They serve the best quality and best priced food in Ludlow and also for many miles around; booking is essential in my experience. The most expensive item on the short menu is about £10 so, obviously, they don't serve fillet steak or lobster . There are usually about ten things to choose from such as: Pate and toast ,soup, a couple of pasta dishes(always excellent), and a fish dish. All simply cooked to a very high standard. The location, right by Dinham Weir is lovely and on a sunny day , very hard to beat anywhere in the UK. They also serve very, very good coffee. Lovely staff too. This place is very hard to beat.

“Amazing Fresh lemon and buttermilk scones!!”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

My son and I called in for coffee on Tuesday around 10am and sat on terrace. The setting is beautiful and the cafe itself is quite rustic. The lady that served us was really helpful, we wanted a snack and she recommend their scones that had not long come out of the oven. They were amazing, lemon and buttermilk with homemade lemon curd it was Devine! The coffee was pretty good too! Will definitely be going back :-)

“imaginative salad heaven”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

Charming waitresses (who make light of the demands placed upon them by a very busy restaurant) and a sensibly modest list of luncheon dishes beautifully cooked and presented make this a place well worth finding. The salads are a thoughtful cut above anything else you may have encountered and the hot dishes equally imaginative. Excellent ingredients. The local cheese plate is superb. The local Ludlow wine was rather disappointing: taste acceptable but no finish at all.
Remember to book for either the first or second lunch sitting - in summer I think it is imperative!

“Well worth tracking down”
Reviewed 9 July 2014

Visited on a Sunday, mid morning, enjoyed hot chocolate, tea and some truly delicious cakes and shortbread. Lovely setting, efficient service. Good value at well under a tenner. Will definitely go back for lunch, menu looked impressive and if what we had is an indication, should be lovely too !
