Just returned from weekend break, hotel fine, staff were friendly and hard working, setting good, but had a superior double room which had an adjoining door to the next room. We heard everything that was going on from the adjoining room and at times it was noisy, television etc, However we will return but not to the Feathers as it was overpriced but we love Ludlow and the surrounding area

Came to Ludlow for one night to see a band play locally. Had always thought The Feathers had an excellent reputation. We were very disappointed. Hotel looked shabby and uncared for. Bedroom was nice although bathroom had seen better days. On arrival we asked if we could get a bar snack. We were told we'd have to be quick because there was a wedding party there. Wish we hadn't bothered. Worst risotto I've ever had. On our return from the gig we thought we'd have a nightcap. What a soul-less place. The long trek to our room had us laughing. Needed satnav to find it. Shabby carpets. Random mismatch of furniture, tatty decor. Comfy bed though. Cooked breakfast was nice although buffet was uninspiring with a dodgy fruit salad. All in all, pretty disappointing. Went on to B'ham the following night. Stayed in a 4 star hotel, with pool, sauna, spa etc included in the price. Considerably cheaper. The Feathers seriously needs a visit from The Hotel Inspector. I feel it has maybe got a bit complacent. We're not overly fussy travellers, however we won't be going back.

Had 3 nights on a Coach Holiday and found the hotel good value. Our party had several rooms in the new wing and although different we found them all clean and comfortable. The bar accepts non residents who come in off the road, and although this can be off putting their are several rooms exclusive to residents only that can be used when busy. Drinks at the bar are a little expensive but typical of a UK hotel. Food was excellent and the staff were friendly and worked as a team. Would not hesitate to stay again if in the area.

I purchase a voucher for the Feathers Hotel from Amazon Local not really expecting much but to say that we were pleasantly surprised was an understatement. We were greeted by friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us, the double room was larger than average with tasteful furnishings and a spacious bathroom and all was extremely clean. The evening meal could not be bettered and my husband and I have eaten in many "Fine Dining" restaurants and "Gastro Pubs" the breakfast was superior in every way to the 5* Meridien Hotel London (Come to think of it Everything was superior in every way to the 5* Meridien Hotel London) would strongly recommend the Feathers at Ludlow to All.

Room Tip: Ask for a room close to the Lift.

An old hotel in an excellent location in a charming town. The recepion on arrival was good and welcoming ,the room was a good size and nicely furnished. The bed was unusually small but not a problem for us and a good nights sleep was had.
The decore in the winding and undulating passages is a bit shabby reflecting the age of the hotel
but surely would not take much outlay to update. The service and food in the bar was very good.
The breakfast was the big disapointment it was lukewarm at best and had clearly been prepared for sometime, the room was busy and there can be no excuse, breakfast is an important feature for most guests.
Reception was a bit off hand on departure even trying to charge us for a stay that was prepaid.
Overall a hotel with plenty of potential which with a bit of though and investment could be so much better.

Staff were very friendly & accommodating, food excellent BUT the same limited menu in the restaurant on 2 nights following. My husband ate from the bar menu, I had. Bowl of soup! Room large but bed very small - it was advertised as a luxury room, it was far from that, having (as it did) a panoramic view of Tesco's side wall and overlooking a gathering point for local youths. No magnified shaving mirror in bathroom. Hotel tired and needs a major revamp. Not the relaxing time we had envisaged.

The hotel is steeped in history. The rooms are spacious, well equipped and very clean. Excellent evening meal and breakfast, extremely helpful staff. Ludlow is a beautiful town. Nothing negative to say.
