Myself, my husband, and our two Canadian guests ate at The French Pantry in August. It was a horribly rainy day in Ludlow, but the restaurant was warm and inviting. Everything was immediately superb - the warm welcome given to us by the owner/chef, the divine bread and the wine.
The menu is unfussy and very well thought out, with something for everyone, but not too much as to over-confuse matters.
Starters, main courses and desserts were absolutely fantastic, with particular highlights being a smoked mackerel appetizer, which, in all honesty, must have been cooked by angels, a main course of moules mariniere, which had evidently been working out as they were the biggest mussels any of us had ever seen, and the creme brulee dessert - a properly crisp bruleed top, with the most glorious vanilla custard underneath, studded with fresh vanilla seeds throughout.
We will most definitely be back and will be recommending the absolute delight that is 'The French Pantry' to anybody that will listen!
