Owner description: Ludlow Castle is an unusually complete range of medieval buildings with a varied history evident within its walls. We are host to a number of events that run between April and November, information of which is available at the local tourist information centre and on our website. Castle House was one of the last grand mansions built in Ludlow. It was sympathetically restored in 2006 by the current Earl of Powis and provides a range of Independent shops, Tea Rooms with an idyllic outside terrace during the summer months; function rooms that are available for civil ceremonies, weddings, parties, wakes, meetings The 3 no. self catering apartments are available for 3, 4 and 7 night stays. All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, well equipped kitchens and sitting/dining rooms and views of the castle that are unparalleled. The Tea Room is a traditional English tea room with a glazed Courtyard, Pantry, Study and Garden Terrace. It is child and dog friendly with a welcoming and enthusiastic team, serving something for everyone. There are loose-leaf teas, cafeteria coffees, fresh juices and quality wines. A range of freshly prepared cakes and cream teas are available all day. There is a lovely walk around the outside of the castle where you are surrounded by natural woodland and outstanding views of the castle walls, River Teme and Whitcliffe Common.

Visited this castle based on trip advisor recommendations. We fell in love with both the castle, the town, and the cathedral in Ludlow. The entire area is a wonderful hidden jewel. The castle was great to explore and held the interest of our young daughter as well as ourselves for hours.

Visited yesterday during our weekend in Ludlow, pouring with rain, but enjoyed the hour or so we spent wondering around.
It was great to look round the ruins and imagine how it must have been 100's of years ago, husband climbed the tower steps and took some great photo's.
Is £5 for adults, did not think overpriced, would recommend, evon in the rain.

Ludlow castle is defiantely worth the trip to see. Great castle with a remarkable inner church (round). The only down thing was the audio tour was not well done and there were no sign boards to tell you where the bedrooms of Prince Arthur & Catherine of Aragon were located. Not much information was given for the castle. Ludlow village is beautiful. Warning, on a Friday afternoon none of the pubs serve food. We walked into 6 different pubs and none of them served food on Fridays (one did, but it wasn't till after 6:30pm).

My wife and myself vistited Ludlow this weekend for the Famous Ludlow market. We stayed in accomodation 4 miles outside Ludlow and drove to a park and ride site (The Eco Park).
My criticism is that I found the whole experience very "tacky". Inside the castle grounds it was muddy and dirty. The entertainment within the castle finished at 10.30pm and yet the park and ride finished at 6.20pm. shortsighted in my opinion.
I visted the Infornmation office and was told to goback to the Eco Park and move the car to another park and ride site which finished at 9.30pm. The lady admitted that the prospect of a taxi after 10.30pm was slim as the crowds were that heavy.

A very disapointing visit. It just seemed to me that the main objective was to get thecrowds in(£8 each to enter the castle) and let them get on with it.

This is a fantastic place to go with the kids (and dogs). The castle is very open, has lots of passageways and towers to climb and has loads of history behind it. The guide book is great but there are also good information boards all around the castle. As well as all this it is very cheap to get in and the people are extremely helpful and will let you leave the castle and return later if you want. During the school holidays they have special activities for kids inside the castle, so check out their website before going.
