My wife and I have been to Ludlow many times and used to have lunch at The Blue Boar but the present owners have completely ruined a lovely pub, so we were looking for somewhere different to have lunch. We had a look at the Church Inn's menu in the window and decided to give it a try, we only wanted something light as we were having a three course dinner that evening. The menu is very comprehensive with lots of different pies, light bites, traditional pub food and sandwiches, so we decided to have sandwiches, my wife had cheese and ham and I had roast beef and horseradish, there was a choice of sliced white bread, brown bread or a baguette. The bread was sliced but it was hand cut and the sandwiches were freshly made to order, they were beautiful and just what we wanted. The pub as a very good range of beers and lagers, the staff were very attentive and friendly and dogs are welcome, what's not to like, highly recommended.

I think there were 10 ales to choose from and pies aplenty. A good choice of wines and friendly people. The pies are really casseroles with a pastry lid and you won't get every one on the list each night. They seem to rotate a selection of 7 or so of the more than 30 varieties.
Well worth a visit we had an enjoyable evening

Spent a few hours here whilst my wife shopped. Had two small dogs both made to feel very welcome especially Percy our pug. Excellent steak pie with very generous filling. Good range of ales with tasters possible. Will return soon...
