“Lucky us!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 August 2014

Phoned in the morning on the off chance of a vacancy for the 4 of us overnite, myself, my mother and my 2 daughters 11 and 15, they had just had a cancellation and yes they could do overnite for us all. Well lucky us because we had such a lovely time and came away feeling like we had just spent a weekend with favourite relatives, such was the warmth and welcome given to us. Rooms are lovely, as is the whole house, Arnold and Suzanne have taken the house and turned it in to a beautiful home, restoring and renovating it back to its former splendour. Breakfast was a wonderful treat, fresh fruit, cereals, juice and the main attraction a platter groaning with bacon, sausage, mushrooms and tomatoes, not to mention a choice of eggs given to us which Arnold then nipped in to the kitchen to produce for us fresh and they were the BEST scrambled eggs I've ever tasted! Thank you so much Arnold and Suzanne for a lovely stay, neither of the girls were happy about going home and wanted to stay longer! Hopefully we shall return, with more news of the house buying mission!

Room Tip: Both rooms are lovely double has ensuite and twin has private bath and loo

I am not the easiest of guests to accommodate, needing a wheat-free diet. Arnold didn't bat an eyelid and produced a superb dinner and breakfast, even going to the trouble of shopping at 6.30am for gluten-free bread for me for breakfast as I had forgotten to bring my own. Every last detail had been considered down to providing a torch in the bedroom - the house is far from street lights so, on cloudless nights, would be great for star-gazing. We were not in luck in this. Everything was as it should be - clean and attractive with help and hospitality available as required. Easy to find, wonderful grounds, interesting animals - chickens roaming and rabbits hopping about. If it is peace and quiet in luxury with charming considerate hosts you want, look no further. Also, very good value for money.

Superb setting for this welcoming B&B in the country. We really enjoyed staying there. Our hosts, Arnold and Susan were welcoming and helpful. Full cooked breakfast with delicious local food. We would highly recommend such an authentic British cottage.

We had been driving around Shropshire struggling to find a B&b when we came upon Pool Cottage, what a find!!! The home and grounds are absolutely stunning. Arnold and Susan were very welcoming, the room was very large and comfortable and the breakfast was enormous. If we were ever in the area again we would definitely stay at Pool Cottage and highly recommend it to other travellers. Amazing!!!

After coming from a land far away, my wife and I really enjoyed this B&B, which is nestled in a green quiet spot in rural Shropshire. With beautiful gardens full of life and colour, an welcoming bunch of characters, Patches, Jet and her highness Bessy, tails wagging at the garden gate. Susan and Arnold, made us feel welcome and at home as soon as we arrived. Lovely place to sit back and let the pleasures of a quieter time wash away some of our modern day concerns.

This was a lovely B and B in a really pretty setting, the owners were very friendly and welcoming and brought us tea and scones on arrival! There was nothing commercial about this place, just a traditional B and B with personal touches and 'real' milk instead of the UHT stuff in plastic pots (brilliant!) The owners helped us pick a route for our walk using their maps and were interested in meeting us, but also left us to do our thing, just the right balance. Fab brekkie with eggs from the chucks in the garden. Highly recommend this place.
