We stopped here for a coffee and were pleasantly surprised. Good coffee (and scones) and a friendly staff. Nice ambiance on a otherwise rainy day.

The date today was "Girlfriends", in search of cake, coffee & chat & my good friend choose the venue
"The Ludlow Kitchen" ..what a good call.

Whilst waiting I read the menu & thought what great choices and at 11a.m. was so torn between the Full English Breakfast OR bacon/sausage bap OR quiche & salad OR the sandwich selection OR scones & cake, no pressure!

We sat in the delightful spacious front patio area on a hot Summers day shaded by lovely trees, a big brolly and the little birds. Greeted promptly when we sat down by a friendly member of staff and ordered a coffee which was delivered in a lovely local pottery cup & saucer, (please advise where I can buy) and a pot of green tea in an old fashioned floral teapot, so appropriate for this beautiful countryside location.

10 minutes in we both opted for the sausage bap which arrived in another 10 minutes. A totally delicious, lightly toasted big homemade bap & sausages from the Food Center with a pot of gorgeous onion marmalade....totally DELISH compared to the usual thin white processed bread "offering" throughout the UK.

Another round of hot drinks (as before) served efficiently and just such a treat not to be rushed or to feel we were there too long (2 hours in total)!!

Total bill £12.00, i.e.£6.00 per head (which might just buy you a starter in a local pub) incl.free parking and no need to hurry away unlike "Uptown Ludlow" which I love however sometimes it's just easy to buy everything here which is so stress-free & have the big Shop & Drop another time.

It was my 1st visit to "The Kitchen" (although I visit the Food Centre & Garden Centre every so often) and can't wait to return to try the other lunchtime menu options (really fancy those Burgers & delicious looking quiches with salad).

I would Highly Recommend this establishment. Quality produce, cooked perfectly and delivered seemlessly.

Well done "Ludlow Kitchen Team" and total appreciation to you all. Cannot wait to revisit.

Many thanks.

The lunchtime menu is fairly limited and, although this can be a good sign, the food wasn't more than average. The uncovered cakes are no longer by the door - perhaps the food safety and hygiene people have been in. The food in the Kitchen isn't necessarily the same as that in the food shop. I saw terrific looking scones in the shop but anaemic, small ones on offer in the Kitchen. There isn't a good atmosphere between the waiting staff and the females supervising them.
The business about going out in all weathers to go to the lavatory is a silly mistake which should be remedied
The sound of chatter and clatter is reminiscent of a school dining hall - the sound bounces back from the high ceiling and it can be hard to hear what the waitresses say

My response is based on this person visiting in December of last year. For a café we currently have an extensive menu of breakfast items, soups, quiches, salads, sandwiches, burgers, fish, puddings, cakes etc. and contrary to what this reviewer states incorrectly, these are all sourced from our own farming operation and the Ludlow Food Centre itself (which includes the scones which are one of our most popular items in Ludlow Kitchen)
We have a terrific team working extremely hard here. It is hard to comment on the “atmosphere” between staff that this reviewer noticed.
Earlier this year we gutted our loos, refitted them all and introduced an internal porch and corridor giving access directly from the café.
The café extension has been nominated for two awards for its design. I am not sure about the sound being like school, but yes, it is quite a large space with the general sounds of customers and our open plan kitchen.

good food, locally sourced. Not bad price- however hot drink is extra, would normally expect it to be included.

We called for a coffee after visiting the Ludlow Food Centre and it was excellent. I only wish we had stayed for lunch as the food looked delicious. It is spotlessly clean and the kitchens are open to view your food being prepared and cooked. The cakes looked delicious and we will definitely be visiting again.
