We have stayed with Ray and Mandy at The Mount on numerous occasions, and have sent various members of our families to stay there as well. The B&B is really comfortable and tastefully decorated, and is a really relaxing place to come back to after a hard day exploring the beautiful countryside. With a warm and friendly welcome from Ray and Mandy (including coffee and biscuits!!), staying here is like having a home away from home. And this is all before you get to breakfast!

With a great variety of local foodstuffs including yoghurts, apple and pear juice, bacon, eggs and sausages, and beautifully cooked breakfasts, this is one of our favourite aspects of staying here. The breakfast room has a wonderful view towards the hills which surround Ludlow, and is a great place to start the day.

Ray and Mandy are incredible hosts, always happy to help with anything you might need, and are obviously really enthusiastic about what they do, and we're often planning our next visit by the time we get home. the B&B is a short walk from the town centre, the shops and the castle, in a quiet part of town, and is really easy to find, with plenty of parking. We can't wait to go back again, and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area.

I would definitely recommend this B&B as a good base to explore Ludlow and its environs.
In one way The Mount is in the perfect location; it's about a 10 minute drive from the major A road around Lundlow. It's outside of the town centre, which means you avoid having to navigate through Ludlow itself, but it's only a 10 minute walk to the heart of this little town.
Being at the top of Gravel Hill, you can see all of Ludlow laid out before you. When we stayed we were lucky (!) to have snow overnight, which meant that the view from our bedroom window the next morning was quite beautiful - snow on the hills in the distance, with a band of mist rolling in above the church and the castle.

The owners were very welcoming and demonstrated a good knowledge of local attractions. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The breakfast options included locally made bread and a very good, fresh fruit salad. Places to stay in Ludlow can be a bit pricey. The Mount is very reasonable which, considering the high quality, makes it very good value for money.

We stayed two nights here this weekend and were very impressed. The room was comfortable -- we also had our own lounge -- both with a great view across Ludlow to the hills. The food was delicious, and our hosts were kindness itself. Highly recommended.

Very nice guest house. I had a large, spaceous clean room with a very comfortable bed. A short walk into town and also not far from the station. Breakfast was very nice too and they were very accomodating and made me an early breakfast on both days.

A good location only a couple of minutes walk from Ludlow town centre. The rooms were pleasant and spacious, in very good order and spotless. The beds were comfy. The breakfast was superb. The host was really welcoming. We ( my 2 kids and I) only stayed one night but i could not fault the accommodation. I would recommend this guest house to anyone.

We were met at the door by Ray (half of the ownership team) who offered us tea and coffee. I liked the location, just a 5 -10 minute walk from the castle taking you through all the mediaeval streets on the way. It's a great town with many things that kept us interested. St. Laurence Church is great example. I recommend the tower climb. It's an eye opener in more ways than one. My wife and I were in the empty castle square Guy Fawkes eve. Fireworks had been going off all evening and the carililon of St. Laurence started and kept up for over a half hour. We found out later there was a practice going on. But back to The Mount. Room was spacious , nicely furnished and we had a great look out our window to the hills of Wales. The breakfasts were top drawer and the coffee delicious. Can't say enough about how friendly and helpful Ray was. I highly recommend this B&B.

Room Tip: We had Rm 6 but were offered a larger room. We kept #6 because of the view.

Close to centre of Ludlow with easy walk into town : also close to railway station. Arrived mid morning and greeted with tea and biscuits. Bedroom very comfortable and good ensuite bathroom with efficient shower. Excellent breakfast with a wide choice. Very hospitable and helpful in every way. My son had stayed the previous night and been very pleased with everything. Off street parking with plenty of space. Attractive views to the open countryside. Would certainly stay here again.
