“Loved the Mount”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 October 2008

The Mount thoroughly deserves to be No.1. My wife and I have just spent two nights there. The hosts, Ray and Mandy, were very friendly. Nothing was to much trouble. The breakfasts, consisting of local produce, were superb. The rooms clean and large. Ludlow itself is beautiful and if you want a good value meal in a traditional English pub, go to the Wheatsheaf. The Mount is excellent value.

I don't want repeat what the other reviewers have said but I will confirm that this is a really, really nice B&B and thoroughly deserves the best rated status on this or any other site. You can tell that the owners are proud of their establishment and actually enjoy running a guest house. I couldn't find anything to complain about even if I tried. The room was spacious, clean and quiet; the food was excellent; the hosts very helpful carrying luggage, giving directions and recommendations, offering lifts to the train station. It was a very enjoyable stay at a very reasonable rate.

We stayed at The Mount Guest House for 1 night last week while on a short break in Ludlow and would highly recomend it.

The owners were friendly and extremely helpful, we couldn't have asked for more. They even offered to collect us from the railway station. The B&B is in a great location for visiting Ludlow being just 2-3 mins walk from the railway station and within 5 mins walk of the town centre.

The B&B was very clean, our room was large and the bed was the most comfortable we have stopped in. Breakfast was lovely with a wide choice of Cereals, yoghurts and then a Full English with Vegetarians well catered for.

We would recomend The Mount Guest House as a place to stay when in Ludlow.

We've just spent three nights staying at The Mount in Ludlow and would highly recommend it.

The proprietors were welcoming and were really helpful with our little boy (who is 9 months old) and provided a highchair. The breakfasts were tasty and served very efficiently.

The position of the Guest House was great (within 5-10 mins walk into Ludlow), we had a lovely big room which was clean and bright and we had a nice view.

The owners did everything to make us feel welcome and looked after : this is a great place to stay!

Warm welcome from Shelly. Served us tea upon arrival to relax and settle in. Refered us to Feathers for Pub grub. Excellent pub grub. Don't miss the Steak and Ale pie there.

The B&B has place to park four cars. Our family room for three was at the very top floor via narrow stairs (no lifts).

Large family room over looking the front property and quiet street.
Very nice and clean with comtemporary decor. Large bathroom with large shower stall. Fresh smell room. No internet, small tv, plenty of electrical outlets, shelves, drawers and well lighted. Good plumbing with new plumbing fixtures. Truely a 4 star B&B.

Well worth the money to stay there. Owner claim to say they have ghost. Seen or heard none. Owner said the ghost is a tidy one that moves things to tidy up. Usually we are affraid of ghost, but not at this place. Everything about this B&B is worth it.

Excellent English breakfast and service. Paid 80 pounds for family room.

It was a first time visit to this area, Ludlow itself is lovely with those blue remembered hills in the distance.
We received a lovely welcome by the proprietor. Room was large and rather than an alcove in room for shower and toilet facilities the en.suite was a substantial size.
Staff were helpful and friendly, pointing out local facilities. We travelled by train and were offered a pick up from and to local station. Breakfast were lovely and one did not detect a ping from a microwave ! all freshly cooked. Would not hesitate to book again
